A recent post about the youth and our vets got me thinking about my Ancestry. I have no children, so there is no one to pass the information on to. Growing up in the 50's and 60's, my interest in what life was like for my parents and grandparents was nil, only interested in playing and what was for diner. I lost my father when I was 12 and my mother when I was 23, My grand parents pass away when I was younger.
As I got older, I began wondering about what life was like for my parents and grandparents.
Now I have questions,
1. What was life like when my parents first got married? How much money did they make and what kind of work did they do?
2. How much did there first house cost?
3. What kind of entertainment did they have? radio, TV, movies
4. What was the cost of Gas for the car and what brand of car did they own?
5. What was it like when they were growing up?

These same question can be used about our Grandparents. Although many on this site, have children, they may not be that interested about the past family history today, In the future they begin to wonder, when it is too late to ask there parents.
May I suggest, that you create a loose leaf note book and start writing down some of your past history of what life was like in your early years and what information you have on your Grandparents.
In years to come, your children will become very grateful.
Just my two cents

Your "two cents" could be priceless for some people.

Adobe doesn't give a toss about photographers.

I guess that you don't realize that you are broadcasting your ignorance and misunderstanding of what Adobe really does.
Opinions based on emotion rather than factual understanding of the subject matter is foolish and absurd. Congratulations.

Here's a warning that could help you live longer.

"Getting angry – even for just a few minutes – can change the functioning of your blood vessels, which may make heart attacks and strokes more likely. The finding could explain why some people experience these events during emotional outbursts. It comes from a study in young adults who seemed to be in good health. The participants were asked to think about past experiences that made them angry while various aspects of their circulatory health were measured. Perhaps unsurprisingly, none of them had a heart attack or stroke during this process, but they did experience impaired blood vessel functioning that has been linked to such outcomes."

I am picking up the correct row. The problem is, why is it adding $3000 instead to $300.

Could you have accidentally made an entry for 3000 instead of 300 and that cell got inadvertently hidden?

Thanks, you have sold me on Adobe LR. I'm a slow learner but determined.

Don't be afraid of it. PS is complicated and takes awhile to master but LR is pretty straightforward and intuitive. After working with a couple of pix to get familair with the tools you might want to watch some Adobe or youtube vids on LR. Don't fret it.

I don't know how much the actual ticket was, but that's $9 in fees! I wouldn't pay it!

And, you wouldn't go to the event either as these are the only guys with remaining tickets other than the skyhigh priced ticket resellers, who you wouldn't want to do business with either.

I checked the site and did not get any alarms of malware. Otherwise, I would not have posted it. Still, everyone can agree to respectfully disagree with anything being said on this site. If you Crazyjane second what Basil said, that’s perfectly fine.

What came next in your comment was a superfluous, unnecessary comment that made it personal. You don’t have the right to call me names just because in your naivete’ you disagreed with something I posted. I suggest you work on your level of urbanity before you post anything further. Other than that, I wish you well.

Besides re-seating the lens you may have dirty contacts. Clean them with a clean art gum eraser and carefully blow off any residue so as not to have it drop into the camera body.

Yep, better than sandblasting or high pressure water jets.

I did try recentering the focus point (the red square). But that did not resolve the not-focusing problem.

If you bump the Focal ring to slightly change focus it won’t subsequently auto focus? I have not noticed that behavior and boy does that does sound annoying. What the heck? I wonder if there is a setting somewhere that controls that behavior?

FYI my won’t-auto focus issue was resolved on page 1 by Orphoto.

I sometimes accidentally nudge the focus ring and the camera goes to manual focus. I merely press the AF button and it goes right back to AF. I use BBF if that is of any help for you.

She had the toughest role because she had to play it straight while all the looniness went on around her. When she did have a laugh line it was generally hilarious.

I am not a "proponent of total gun abolishment." It is "abolition," not "abolishment," by the way, so long as we are correcting other people's usage. You are barking up the wrong tree there.

I don't think there are many calling for the abolition of gun ownership. There are many who make the slippery slope argument, saying that any regulations will inevitably lead to gun confiscation and that those advocating or regulations are secretly promoting a gun confiscation agenda.

"Who is taking a absolutist position on the Second Amendment?" you ask. Well, there is the National Association for Gun Rights, for example.

"Accepting NO COMPROMISE on the issue of gun control, NAGR works tirelessly to hold politicians accountable for their anti-gun views, and has made great strides in protecting and preserving the Second Amendment."

FYI, according to my dictionary the definitions of abolishment and absolution are the same. After reading your elitist comment on the subject I consulted the dictionary to confirm my belief.

After I did that I decided to not read anymore of your self-serving proclamations and do not plan to read anymore in future posts. My laugh quotient for the day has been exceeded.

Amen to that.

No one likes outsiders trashing their group. It's bad form from the get go and is particularly bad when trashing a bunch of nice old guys in a photo forum, and an entire country full of admirable, amiable, charming, considerate, courteous, delightful, helpful, gentle, gracious, fine and dandy folks like us! Well, most of us anyhow...

Great description but you left out nutty.

Well, that is true of nuclear weapons, poison gas, flame throwers, rocket launchers, etc., as well. Of course people kill people. No one says otherwise. Automobiles don't kill and maim people, people maim and kill people. Should we toss out all of the laws and regulations governing the use of automobiles? Airplanes are inanimate objects with no mind of their own. I guess we don't need any safety regulations or air traffic control.

Who is saying that we don't need ANY regulations of firearms? Names, addresses, DOBs and last four digits of SSNs please.

Your arguments are grossly flawed. You might consider taking a course in basic dialectics to improve your illogical conclusions or beliefs. You cannot mix universal, singular nor collective statements into the same syllogism. This is a common failing of proponents of total gun abolishment. You can't eat an elephant in one bite but have to nibble away at it.

Assault weapons were around long before I was in high school. I don't have a clue what rifles the gun clubs were using, but I know the guns were easily capable of killing, but no one was killed. Guns could be deadly then and now. What changed is the people using them.

Very good comment but the sad part is that you even have to post it.

Some people are so closed minded and intellectually challenged that they will never understand that people kill people. Guns are inanimate objects with no mind of their own vs...?
