I am struggling to learn how to use this so I may be off base, but I think the setting you are looking for may be in the custom function menu 06. Good luck and please let me know if it works.

Thank you all so much for the great information! Am going to look closer at the Olympus flashes as well as the Metz and perhaps a few others. At least now I have some ideas about what to look for and how to interpret the info I read. As I said before, you guys are the greatest!

Have an Olympus OMD M5 Mkii and want to start doing some flash. Although the "junior" flash provided with the camera is useful, I am looking for something I can grow into. Am interested in hearing from other Olympus users regarding their experience, good and bad, with brands of flashes and triggers. It seems the more I read, the more confused I get.

On another note, have been following this forum for ages and have learned sooo much! You guys are the greatest! Thank you!

Although I have not done this, I have read how-to instructions in a book called "Mastering the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark ll. As I understand it, in RC mode the super control panel is devoted to RC flash control. In this panel there is a grid with A, B, C for controlling your flashes. The final line controls the "trigger" flash. Setting the first box to OFF prevents a flash burst. Apparently it still fires a preflash which can add unwanted light. If this happens they suggest using a smaller aperture or moving the camera away from the subject. Hope this helps. Please let me know as it is something I have been wanting to try.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful suggestions for books. Looks to be some great reads and a large number that we do not already have. Thanks again.

I belong to a camera club that has a terrific library which we try to keep stocked with useful books. We currently have a good selection of books, many by the usual suspects ... Peterson, Kelby, Sammon, McNally, etc., but the search continues. Our club encompasses all skill levels. Anyone have any must reads in their personal library? Thanks for any suggestions you may have.
