There are several manufacturers of mounting tissue (EG - 3M) that is burnished onto the back of the photo and then you burnish the photo onto "gatorboard" or a like surface. Your print will be secure and the gatorboard will not warp.

No need to invest in a dry mount press.

Well, I guess I'm one of those full time professionals. Studied in college, went out into the business world and earned a living in photography and then I founded a photography school that is still operating today.

Do I know it all? NO; no one does but I do learn something new nearly every day.

Use the lenses you have until you know exactly how they will perform. If you think that buying another lens will lead to image improvement, you're WRONG. The 300mm zoom lens that you already have will do a great job if you learn to use it properly.

Make certain that you balance your camera to a color checker before you even start to take one picture otherwise you are literally treading water with no boat in sight.

The company I work for, a 501(C)(3) charity, has a Spyder 3 Elite Display Calibration Instrument for sale that we have received as a donation.

Every photographer needs to calibrate his/her monitor for perfect viewing, for file editing and in order to obtain the best prints possible. The Spyder 3 Elite is the perfect tool for this purpose. You will be amazed at the difference you see in your monitor after it's calibrated with this professional instrument. It's easy to use and will keep your monitor calibrated, even when you change roomlight.

Delivered to your door anywhere in the USA for $185.00

Our charitable organization will accept money orders, personal checks or Paypal as payment. Personal checks will require a waiting period for bank clearance prior to shipment. Contact me for payment details. We only have one instrument for sale so your email time stamp will be observed. Thanks. . .

Rich

I plan to start a photography business soon - mostly family pics, children, infants, maternity, and senior pics. I really like the black/white pics with just one color -- like blue eyes, pink hat, etc. I have been shooting in RAW, but do not have a software program to process these pics. Of course, I want to learn to change color saturation, add script, vignette -- basically everything a client would expect from a quality photographer.

So......... do I NEED Photoshop CS5 Extended??

Thanks, Lou Ellen

Good question. The packages were donated by Adobe and the software is CS4 in a complete version. Isn't that all that counts?
