I have Photomatrix, and CS4 and it works well. My new D800 has a option rendering a one-photo HDR from a bracket in-camera. I am partial to working with a single file and pushing it to where I want it. Or creating a bracket from a single pic and rendering HDR.

Since extenders do not have optics is there that much degradation in he quality. On a high end camera? Using LR4, Photoshop, Qimage?

Yes! If I cannot carry it on I do not go. On my brother's last visit he was seated and boarded up front. They did not police the carry on and the people in the rear took all the overhead. He had to check his carry on! No option. I use TSA approved pelican cases but that is like a "stealme" sign. And when they are tossed around something in the camera or lens breaks.

I have a Sigma 50-500mm and have used it on a D300, D700, and D800. It works great.

It is the key that comes with the software. I have it on three systems. I registered it the first time I installed it. The next two times I just entered it in the software install but did not go back out to Adobe to re-register it for each install. So far it has not phoned home and ratted me out. Since you do not have to be online to use it I am not sure they would know how many installs have been made. Some software does leave help online and that would let them peek at your system and determine the system ID.

Good point. That makes sense. I had mine off for something a month ago and forgot to turn it back on. When I looked at the pix in a monitor in the field I had to do some re-shooting. I am guessing if I drop a camera, I have bigger problems to worry about. However, if it is swinging around my neck it may hit something and screw up a lens.

You will enjoy the new toy. Did not see a box for the increased storage. 74mb (uncompressed) raw is disc hungry.

I have it on a desk top and two laptops. I registered the key on the first installation. On the other two installs I entered the key and that all still work nicely.

Here is a Nikon shutter Count I took off an old D200 JPG. I used XnView. A freebee. Anything that will display metadata. Good Luck.

Take a .jpg pic and use any software to display the metadata. Shutter releases will be shown.

Yes. But you are getting some drop dead great macros! On line there are some great tube extension buys. One shooter I talked to gets great results with an off brand set of tubes from Amazon - paid under 20$.

All great points. At my age I like sneaking up on landscapes in a 4x4 and working out of the tailgate from two pelican cases. I keep hiking in to a minimum with much gear. If I do need two cameras all setup, I like the Cotton Carrier vest with two holsters. Good shooting.

Got the noise part. Getting into position can also sound like a herd of elephants. And then there is human scent. Especially if you like after shave etc.

I keep them on three 2tb USB 3.0 hard drives for triple redundancy. If one goes down I replace it. I am getting better at cleaning up after a shoot with the D800s. I still like uncompressed raw pix. OUCH is right :)

Good point. Everything contributes to the in-camera speed of processing - especially when your raw pix are 74mb. If I am not in a hurry I like the extra NR. LR and NIK both have great NR. In post pressing I do NR before any clarity or sharpening.
