Thank you again!!

It is not if so that my prints are archivial quality but it would be a shame to have your work dissappear because of drive failure. You certainly know your stuff and I appreciate your comments however frightening they may be. I am at the age where I would like to leave a legacy for kin. Apart from printing the favoured photos on suitable stock I don't know of other alternatives. Thank you for your time and information.

Thank you for all the information delivered. My appreciations!! It still looks as if it is the standard to back up on several discs. I am not too sure what "Raid" is but i can find out. Inthe days of film if you kept the negative dry it in a dark spot it would last forever.

In our world everything now is backed up on tape or disc. It makes you wonder what would happen if that information was lost. some of our club members are installing SSB discs for the storga eof their programes but not their files. one of our buddies suggested that " a hard drive was something that has not yet failed".

Some time back in a discussion there was mention of different hard drive compositions apart from our general "rust" structure. I have heard of electronic storage butis there any advancement in the physical in house storage of files?
