BUT...

By Bracketing the speed you introduce a change too...

What about bracketing the ISO? Has anyone tried that?

Very interesting point, Rongnongno. I confess I have not thought about that before. This will overcome the aperture and shutter speed issues to a certain extent.
In theory, one will then have to shoot in manual mode, fixing the aperture and shutter speed, and a normal EV image with an ISO of at least 400. This will allow you to underexpose by 2 stops(reducing the ISO to 100) and overexpose by 2 stops(increasing ISO to 1600) without introducing unacceptable noise. Unless you have a sensor that produces very little noise at high ISO, or a bright sunny day, you may have very little leeway to select small aperture, high shutter speeds, low ISO and wide EVs.

That's a great write up about you and your achievements. And your fantastic images as well. Strange how we 'talk' to each other in this forum on a daily basis and yet don't really know much about each other.

Like the idea. The third one looks best to me.

We did an "alphabet shoot" once. You had to photograph things that looked like letters (no actual letters allowed!) A fun time, and it really made you look at different things in a new way.

That's another great idea, although probably hard to do as they are few and far between. I'll appreciate examples you know off. My variation of that is shooting things that start with a particular alphabet.

Is this a one shot HDR?
I suspect just by increasing the brightness would give you the same results. You did well in maintaining the mood of the room, ie keeping some parts illuminated and some parts in darkness.

The downloaded version of the first image looks better. Maybe a slight lightening of the darkness would make it look even better. The HDR version is too light.

I think you did very well there. A great idea to start with and I thought it was technically well done. Didn't look like you did any cutting and pasting, although a couple of shadows seem to be missing or not quite right.

Really nice and interesting abstract set. Not a subject one sees often on this forum.

Here's the link and the hype on the program. The link gives you a free download.

Windows 7 has a sticky note program already.
Start - All Programs - Accessories - Sticky Notes
Right click mouse and pin to taskbar, start menu or create shortcut on desktop.

Can't tell you if it has all the functions of your free downloaded program.

Can you tell me where it's located?

It's an 'island' just off the coast of France. There is a causeway joining it to the mainland but becomes inaccessible when the tide comes in.

Thanks guys. Some more great ideas.
A common problem with clubs is that a few members do all the hard work and the rest are happy to sit back and not contribute.
Mark7829's idea is a good one to get everyone involved more. I will make 'getting all members involved' an objective of our club's metings.
One item we decided on last night was to give every member the same 3 images. They are then to select one and manipulate it any way they like. They then show their attempt and explain why and how they did it.
Thank you all again.
