$195 would be the price down from $225. Its on Ebay now for $185 but buyer pays shipping.
I love the wide lens because the common place can become interesting. Here is a fisheye 8mm. I thought the 10mm end of this lens would replace my 8mm lens but no, The difference is notable.
Thanks, The cactus shot reminds me of Ed Weston who had an early studio not far from here early in his career.
There is a section of these old homes near here. I have enjoyed walking the 'hood and shooting them with wide lenses like Fisheyes. This 10-24 lens is wonderful. (15-27 in 35mm terms) I seem to have changed my shooting style from tele to close up. I like the distortion. When I was shooting the white house the owner came out and we had a chat. She's in her seventies and I see her speed walking all over the neighborhood. People are curious as to why you are taking pictures of their home. Unfortunately, I seem to be at a point in my life where I'm not perceived as threatening. Now I'm just a curiosity. Not sure how to take that.
A couple shots with a Sony 10-18mm zoom on a NEX7.
I thought the 10mm end would be a replacement for a 8mm fisheye, but no. An 8mm fisheye is still my favorite for creative distortion. That said, this is a great and really useful lens. Probably my new "normal" on the camera.
Sony also has something called Rich BW. My NEX 7 takes multiple BW shots and combines them into very pleasant BW images. These taken with a new Sony 10-18mm WA zoom.
No kidding. I had to stop and look for a while and question my loyalty to Sony. The new Sony A99 full frame body alone is exactly that price. Even buying a used A900 for $1500 and adding a decent lens will get you within chump change of $3k
I have not played with it much. One thing about HDR I do not like is the flattening of the image. I think I'm a light range junky and sometimes the HDR makes lots of shadow detail at the expense of lighting drama. The photos look flat and undramatic. I guess that somewhat depends on how artfully the software engineers at Sony handle it and also how many stops you dial in on your HRD. One stop or a half stop will have less shadow detail but more range between the light and shadows than more stops. That said, the range on these is not objectionable to me. Gotta watch that flare with the fisheye.
Rokinor 8mm fisheye on Sony NEX7 or maybe it was my old 5N.
This AM at Costco. Nikon D600, 24-85 lens and a 70-300 lens. $2899.

You can have a couple million out of this mess.
I've have been using those lousy little on camera flashes so long, I forgot what a good flash unit was. My wife got me a Sony hvl-f43am flash for Christmas and it illuminated some nice holiday photos. I just turned it to the ceiling and put everything on auto on the NEX7 camera. Pretty cool. Lit up the whole room with a nice soft light. Ceiling is peaked and quite a bit higher than the walls. A guaranteed participant in all family get togethers in the future. Like when the kids are going nuts opening gifts.

looks like concrete to me !!! what was that built to do ?
It looked like concrete to me. I am guessing the rocky terrain destroyed spoke wheels on heavily loaded wagons. I would guess that it hauled ore. Heavy load over rough ground. Ore was mined in one place, hauled elsewhere, and stamped.

You had to go to behind the house to find these at the castle. Also lots of vehicles in the garage.
The equipment was in the museum in the main village across from the store, restaurant, cafe complex. You can't see them until you enter. Close to the Furnace Creek Inn.

Butchery or not .... this is awesome!
Begs the question as to whether one can butcher a 73 GM motor home.
