Is it possible to use HDR for portraits?
Thank you for correcting me. My memory is not as accurate as I thought.
You should send that first one into Ducks Unlimited magazine! That would look fantastic on a national magazine!
I had a d50 a bit ago, and recently upgraded to the D5100. I was also In between the D5100 and the D3200. I read countless reviews and it boiled down to budget, megapixels, and what you want out of the camera. The D5100 has 16.4 megapixels, which anything over 14 is pretty much the same unless you're going to blow it up really big. The d3200 has 32 megapixels, if my memory serves me right. The D5100 was priced around $800 new (I got it for $400 refurbished) and the D3200 is a bit more expensive than that. I chose the d5100 because it had a few fun features that I wanted to play with, these being the flip out LCD screen and video recording. I am very happy with my camera and firmly believe I made the right choice. The only draw back I think is that you have to be careful with lenses. This camera does not have a built in focus motor, which allows it to be very light compared to the d3200, but that also means you have to buy lenses that have a focus motor inside them if you want to use autofocus, usually they'll say swm (silent wave motor), and I know Nikon carries AF-S lenses that have motors in them. Other than that, a great buy!
Webs.com is a free website host and if you end up wanting to get something a little better, they have package deals with extra stuff to use.
Would it be a challenge to work the zoom feature of a lens while back button focusing?
Would the Nikon, which is what I have, light up or give off a beep sound when the back button focuses?
I am curious about back button focusing and what it offers. I have already searched through UHH, but I still have some questions that werent covered in the discussions. My first question is, if I use back button focusing to focus on a target, and then that target moves, by holding the back button will the focus automatically adjust? My second question is, how easy is it to switch from back button focusing to half shutter focusing? When I go from a stationary target to a moving scene, I may need to change focusing methods. Can this be done quick enough to not lose the moment?
I took a look at a lot of the lenses mentioned. Sadly, they were out of my budget or missing something I needed. I have a budget of $200 for a zoom lens and most were above that, and the ones that were not above that were not AF-S, which I need for my D5100.
