Yes, LOL, flare is correct. As a dyslectic I have issues from time to time.
N72,
Very interesting. Thanks for letting me know.
I've heard about flair and don't think I've experienced it before. This was taken by a Pentax UC1 film camera using Kodak 200. What causes it and is there a way to prevent it? This was the only shot out of 24 that this happened.
I have a used Canon 70-150MM FD lens that I have paired with an AE-1 Program. I'm looking to trade it for a 24MM FD lens. Anyone out there interested?
I wanted to follow up. I was given a Canon T2 and 2 AE-1 programs. Nice fellow in the area wanted to get rid of them. The T2 was body only but my EF lenses will work with that.
One AE-1's had the standard 50MM and the other a 70-150MM 4.5. I'm not sure I will use that one. Anyone have a 24MM wide angle they would like to trade for the zoom?
My thinking is the 24MM would be fun to use for B&W landscapes this winter with when the skies are stormy.
I have found it at Amazon and Costco and CVS will develop if it's C-41
Appreciate the comments. The local camera shop is loaning me a used Canon AE and lens. Going to have a roll scanned to see how it looks. Will report.
Well dah, that was easy. Guess I could have done that myself. Thanks.
I found two old film cameras that don't work. My goal was to play around with B&W uploaded into LR4. Just curious how it would look. So I'm going to buy an used film camera to use for this experiment. I know there are lots of options but I might save some time by getting some feedback from the user group here.
It has to come with a lens or I need to find a Canon that can use my EF lenses.
Thanks for you help in advance.
That's OK. I'm not disappointed. I figured for $5 it could sit on a shelf in my den. I emailed KEH and there minimum charge for cleaning and minor maintenance is $170 so that would be silly. I could buy a nice Canon AE1 or Nikon FM to shot film. You know more than me so I'll ask this. I assume there are Canon film cameras that would take my EF lenses, correct? If so, which would be the least expensive or easy to come by?
I don't go to garage sales. I got my own junk but today I stopped at one near home. $5 took this Contaflex II.
I've been reading about them most of the afternoon. Someone here must have one or know about them as well. It appears to work, I think.
The meter does and all the rings move. I took the back off, advanced the film take up and activated the shutter. Man, it sounds like a rat trap going off.
One site suggested taking the back off, opening the lens up, and going to bulb to inspect the inside. There is some dust and maybe a bit of fungus. Not sure about that. I have never seen fungus before but there is about 1/4 inch long thin line of greenish color on the bottom back of the lens.
I suspect it could use a good cleaning for sure but that may cost more than it's worth. Suggestions about doing that are welcomed. If so, who?
In any event I would like to run some film through it just to see the results.
Funny, one always wonders where it comes from. Nice job.
I now understand what you mean.
Thanks to all for comments.
