A friend is writing a book about our area. My photo project has been to (slowly) take pix of local oddities & objects of interest. We got together yesterday to do something totally unrelated & we each happened to mention what we are working on. I suggested that she use some of my images & she was excited to do so. I then said I would need a contract agreement. But I have no idea what might be reasonable compensation. $50/image plus a small % ? Anyone have experience with this?

I did a book cover for a good friend of mine and I was very happy to receive a nice credit in the forward portion of the book.

I have read what I think is a lot on what lens are used for macro photography but havenΒ’t get the impression they are selling a lens.

So, I am asking the everyday photographer what Nikon Macro lens they would suggest. The object is to be able to view the hairs on a bee or better yet, the multi eyes of a fly. IΒ’ve tried the extension tubes on a Nikon 18-105 zoom lens, but did not get the results I wanted.

Ideally, a lens under $250, but will take best offer and need not be a Nikon lens.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Happy New Year

I shot this with a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 with bellows. It was my very first attempt to shoot Macro! I also used a Sunpak Ring Flash. I found this fuzzy guy on my front door. This setup dose everything I could hope for. Good luck with your quest in macro photography.

Life is too short! And if the finances are there, then go for it! I had my 3rd open heart surgery hast January and ordered my D7000 from my hospital room. And 8 weeks ago they replaced my pacemaker, I ordered my D300! I have my lovely wife shaking her head but agreeing, how many cameras dose he need, just one more!! Enjoy your life while you can. There is no one in the cemetery glad that they didn't buy a new camera.👍😄
