I like it too. It's a good rule-of-thirds pic. Not sure how much the birds reflection would have added to it. Nice work.

Thank you Photog8. :-)

These were taken not on the same day but may have been several weeks or days apart. Enjoy and comment if you want.

Not really.... just boats and PP. This shot was taken at a terrific little Cornish Town (UK) called Looe. I took about 200 pictures in three days, thanks to digital. Couldn't afford to do that on kodachrome!

I like that a lot.

This one probably has been photoed to death but its fading fast to be nothing more than a pile of old wood.

Saving the past in WV one photo at a time.

Since I saw this kingfisher across the road from river, and sitting on this same post two different visits, I figured I should read up on their nesting habits. Ayuh, now it makes sense:

"They begin building their nest by taking turns digging a tunnel into an earthen bank near their fishing territory. Using their bills to dig a tunnel and their feet to push dirt and debris out behind them. The tunnel will be 3 to 7 feet long when completed and the eggs will be laid in total darkness."

Shot with Canon SX50.

Wow, excellent shots Linda and you found the nest to. Thanks for the info. There's a sand pit on the other side of the pond where I've been shooting. I'm going to look around over there. :-)

The setting is very pleasing. I keep trying to capture these little guys, too - and agree with your philosophy :)

Thank you Linda. I spend an inordinade amount of time chasing these little creatures around. :-)

Guess I have to sight in my camera. It seems to be shooting a little high. I would like to have gotten the reflection of the Kingfisher but they are so fast I guess you have to take what you can get. :-)
