Great comment and explanation! I agree 100% with what you posted.

I do not understand why anyone would say that the lens does not matter; that it is all about the photographer. They follow up by pointing out that the good photographer produces better pictures with worse equipment. That may generally be true, but everyone produces better pictures with better equipment.

One example in which bad equipment totally fails is an indoor event in a hall that has the ceiling painted black. That means no flash will bounce off it. To top that off, they also turn down the lights very low to create "mood." Someone decided for us all who knows when, that mood is attained when we cannot see clearly.

In such circumstances cheap equipment will utterly fail. The better lenses -and cameras- have a chance of rescuing the situation, because they perform better in low light. They focus faster, track fast action better, produce noticeably better images, and are more rugged.

Fantastic shot! I love that you captured the valley fog. One of my favorite captures for the eeriness of morning against a majestic mountain.

Like the 2d one except that over saturated fluorescent green grass detracts from the wisteria.

While taking a country drive, I was amazed to see the beauty of these colors as the wisteria was reclaiming the land as it grew through the cabin.

How funny Mile! I laughed so hard I startled my cats. Great capture!

I am so tired of looking just can't find one here. Did once get a juvenile. So today was out and finally after a long search found my perfect Bald Eagle. He just sat there without moving.

I have gotten into watching all kinds of critters since we've moved to AR, but the most beautiful critters are the birds, especially the birds of prey.

Hi Billdgyoung,
It is a Fotodiox eyecup and you just put in your camera model. I bought mine on Amazon about 6 months ago and I absolutely love it. The only thing about it, is if you are going to shoot with your camera above you and need to tilt the screen down, just slide the eyecup off. The screen won't tilt with it on.

Great tip... do you have a part/model # for the eyecup?

FZ200 does not have a slip-off piece. I have the FZ200 and being sure I wasn't going to return it I found a large rubber eyecup and after trimming the eyecup flange glued it to the eyepiece front surface. Not touching the diopter wheel. Works fine. I needed it to block sunlight coming into my eye. It also spreads/flexes when I need my glasses.
