I am not sure how to get to update the program. If that is the problem.

I use this because of a concern I have. That I will forget to tighten the head properly and the lens will hit the tripod and break. This model locks when you let pressure off the handle.
I have never heard it mentioned here and am wondering why. It has its faults but works for me. I am getting that urge for a better head. Any ideas?

This subject must be the modern version of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. The truth is one dont have to know much with most cameras. You look through the viewfinder and that is what you will get. Decoding the history and the purposeful obfuscation of the camera manufactures gets you now here. It will not improve your photography.
Photography is well over a hundred years old. We still haven’t got the aspect ration frames and paper sizes to match up. A friend had 4x6 pictures printed and most of the heads where cut off.
For the record I think for a fine print the size and aspect ratio should relate to the print, not some manufacturing standard.

If I shoot with an APS camera and put the print in a square frame on the last day of the month is the the aspect ratio changed.

Ants, farts
Is there really anyone that could think this stuff is humor? It is an embarrassment. Tasteless, boorish and dumb. Why I click on it I will never know.

Nothing to do with age, the idea of holding a camera at arms length is one of the dumbest things ever. One posablity is getting a strong pair of eye glases from the dollar store so you can hold the camera close.
The idea of a selling a camera with a long lens makes one wonder who is coming up with these ideas. I was in Walmart and every long lens camaera they had on display had no veiw finder. I am sure many buyers think it is their fault the pictures are bad.

Put the camera on a tripod om firm ground. use a middle focal length and take a photo of a static object like a car or house with in 5 or 75 feet.

use the full auto mode, then try it in apertur priorit at a medium aperture, 5.6 f.8.

Post those photos.

I don't think it is the lens.

One of these a month would put you in a high place. A fine picture from many angles.

You are in Canon and Nikon land.
I think the megapixel count that Sigma clames is not generally accepted.

I have a canon SX50. What ever the ranges of either camera it is of no concern. The rang is more than can be used. I would have rather had half the range. It is just worthles at the long end.

I am asking person who praised clarity. Any one could make a comment.
I am using
amount 50
Radius 20
Threshold 0
That was a from from Jeff Schewe. I find it too strong for most files and reduce it using a layer. Reducing it to suit the picture. The effect can can be worthwhile.
