Decided to try a human picture
Try this. Crop everything below child's hand, and just partial face of mother and dad. Make a layer and blur everything slightly. Then mask and block the blur on just the child's head. You get a shot where the whole story is told, very little distracting background, and almost all the focus on the child's face.
