I live in Lenoir...I bet I could about guess where this was taken. One of my favorite shots..That's my town you seen in the distance, lights blazing and all...Exquisite....a love place to start the day as well as end it. And the lightning....we've had lots of heat lightning this summer....and looks like we might get something later today...Blowing Rock is an awesome place...Hope you went to Moses Cone, Bass Lake, the fire tower @ the Mansion...lots of great photo ops there.
Sweet courthouse...Been there...a great place to visit. One of my former co-workers is from there.
I still use it. Sadly my laptop is in the shop and had to load everything off of it..I bet Picasa will be gone when I get it back on Friday. Have loaded it on another laptop though to finish a birthday project for my mom...and yes, love Picasa...saved my bacon more than once.
Beautiful place. Didn't get to spend as much time there as I wanted....But maybe next time. Even with the ghosties and goblins and things that go bump in the night...

Love that area of the OBX..Ocracoke is also beautiful, Portsmouth Island - just not when it's hot..the bugs...they bite, draw blood and try to carry one off...but still beautiful.
Well, I've seen a new place to visit, and a cemetery to boot...love the photos.
One of my co-workers, an EC teacher, and a teacher of photography at Caldwell Community College went there about 4-5 years ago...he had an absolute blast....probably one of his favorite trips.....
Thanks...It was amazing. Didn't get to fly as long this time as last. Seemed a little more windy up top than back in September. Plus they were waiting for two lost souls to find them to get sunset flights in before the sun went down...and a student pilot was practicing landings and take offs so that may have had something to do with it too. Would fly again in a flat minute....

Been to that overlook a few times...I live just "down the road" from the Parkway near Blowing Rock and it's never the same. Just getting on it and drive is a treat....Try Doughton Park sometime....the drive is pretty cool..and the Viaduct...the last leg of the parkway.
Thanks....How far are ya'll from Richfield/McAllisterville, PA?? I have cousins living in both places. Those areas (next to each other) are lots like where I live. Mifflintown/Juniata County is the area.
