I knew someone who bought himself a Testarossa. Problem was, not one insurance company in the US wanted to cover it!

My aunts and uncles used to rent a summer house in the Rockaway's back in the 60's.
We would stay with them for the week.
So cool to be able to walk to the beach.
They lived in Washington Heights and somewhere else in Manhattan or The Bronx.
We lived in Deer Park.
Vacation! What a good old time we all had.

Thanks for the memories! For a while I rented a room on Pine Acres Blvd. in Deer Park. In August I'd stroll up at night to the woods by the power lines to sleep in the cooler places where the Sun hadn't gotten through the pines. Good times!
Good Heavens! That was 40 years ago! Tempus fugit, fer sure!

Notice the map of Long Island below.

The Brooklynites and Queensians (?) don't like to admit that they are on Long Island. But that's OK, Long Islanders don't like to admit Brooklyn and Queens are on the Island, either! Maybe they could dig a canal between Nassau and Queens? πŸ€”

It kinda brought the opening scenes from "2001:A Space Odyssey" to mind.
(Even though the hominids there were beating on each other…)

Hmmm. Then y'all might enjoy the scene from Men In Black 2, where Will Smith is going to get his ex-partner from "a lighthouse in Connecticut". He pulls up the unpaved road to... the Fire Island Lighthouse!
Wife and I got a good chuckle out of that!

Nice!
Is it possible to try different colors for the frame, and see if anything pops for you?
I ask because 'way back in High School photography class, I mounted a B+W photo of a cemetery on a green board, and the teacher loved the contrast between the green of life and the monochrome of the cemetery. That has stayed with me for over a half century.

Changes should have started in the 1970s, but stalling and endless discussions have brought us to the point of no return.

Ah, yes, but back in the 70s, the climate change people (CCP) wanted the government to "do something" about the predicted ice age they said was sure to come!
So, the CCP got their wish, and are now complaining about "global warming"!

A global agreement to reduce world population by birthing a maximum of one child per couple for a generation would mean sufficient food for all in the future, reduce transport and emissions, give our forests a chance to recover and a reduction in global temperatures, lowering the sea levels at the same time. Otherwise the human race is on a path of self destruction.

How has that worked for Communist China?

I was just going to ask why, as a kid. I would see tennis shoes hanging on an electric wire. What does that signify other than a kid headed for trouble?

As a kid, I'd see them on the wire on the last day of school, no other time. (No real gangs in the 'burbs.) I figured it was some weird jock celebration rite.

This description probably isn't 100% accurate, but it seems believable that the ship wasn't actually the Titanic.

And that's why computer graphics was invented! πŸ˜„πŸ‘

Ummm, I 'll bet that right next to them were the Large Eggs, yes? The 12 eggs you got were the extras! Easy-peasy!

(Where we lived, due to antenna alignment, we could get WCBS TV – which had Red – or the six other commercial stations. This was way before motorized antennas.)
