I am surprised not to see more land raised up in the area from the fault . I guess that doesn't always happen along the faults .

Interesting.

I once ate lunch in (dry) Wallace Creek where it crosses the San Andreas Fault near the Carrizo Plain. Also a friend once rented a home at Lake Elizabeth, L.A. Co. with the San Andreas running by yards away. Weird cracks in the pavement and no homes built on the fault itself.

My goodness - - what a small world. We had a weekend house in Green Valley, CA (in the valley below Jupiter Mountain) and belonged to the Elizabeth Lake Ranch Club. I learned to drive to and from Palmdale on Lake Hughes Road. You can see the San Andreas indentation most places along that route - - with very tall trees rooted in the indentation, and you barely see the tops protruding over the depth of the fissure.

No, born in Ohio, reared in Altadena, Ca (LA) from age 10. If I could only listen to music from one US state it would be Texas music in ALL it's genres.

Tex Perkins a favorite Aussie muso of mine. This is a change of pace for Tex, he does a Johnny Cash tribute show and he can also rock hard.

Having grown up in North Hollywood and lived for a while in Arcadia, I know exactly where Altadena is - - almost brought a ranchito there in 1968/9. Long way from Ohio - - but much better weather, hahaha.

I appreciate music, a little bit of country rock crossover is ok, but I'm not much a fan of either rap or CW.

Too much into the Rock Scene - - my BIL was the drummer:

Yeah well the judge is in charge of charging him with whatever it was (University fraud thing?) and he happened to be Chicano so he got bitched at....had he been Jewish, Black or Asian I'm sure he would have insulted him as well.......
....Net result of his outburst and the press coverage about it I am pretty sure his Lawyers can have that judge desist on the contention he is now biased against Trump.....good move overall I would say!

Oh and BTW he Was talking about illegal border crossers when calling some/most(?) criminals/rapists etc which were in the news at the time !
Yeah well the judge is in charge of charging him w... (show quote)

Yeah, I understand - - Trump is by all accounts an equal-opportunity insulter.

I don't think you mean that the judge would desist - - I think you mean they might ask him to recuse himself, although I don't imagine that happening.

That would be the only thing Trump and I have in common ... we submit the paperwork but don't have a tax liability.

And I think THAT would be expected of you IF you don't earn any income in the US of A - - uhhh, unlike the Trumpster who DOES earn money as an American resident.

Oh, but wait...HE'S smart - - I forgot ! ! !

Mama calls me Texcaster but my real name is Earl. lol

I'm a dual citizen. This year marks more than one half of my life in Oz. I left before Ronnie was inaugurated, (as a joke), went surfing in the South Pacific, went native and never came back to live.

Well, happy Point Break...

My dad, originally from Kansas, then Hollywood, was in the Marines on South Pacific Isles during WW2. He never wanted to talk much about it, but he did say, "It warrant [weren't] no Bali Hi."

I hope you're not a resident of South Australia right now, with all the weather and resultant power problems.

ps: are you originally from Texas ???

Well, patience, anyway... The only luck involved was having the falcon show up to begin with. ;) No idea what it was watching, but that tree lately has been full of swallows...

That's kinda what I meant by luck:
Right Time, Right Place...

IF the swallows SAW the falcon, I don't think they'd hang around for long.

ps: my friend used to live in Gig Harbor, then Tacoma, and now University Place - - she goes out of her way to find and watch Bald Eagles up there, so beautiful ! ! !

I don't believe Trump made any remarks about Mexican Immigrants, I do believe he made remarks about Mexican Illegal Immigrants!
If that is not an important difference to you then carry on with your elucubrations!

You know, he WASN'T talking about ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants when he referred to Judge Curiel - - just saying, he has a certain attitude...

What a darling ! ! ! Happy birthday Amber Rose...

You did a wonderful thing to rescue/rehome her with you and your family...thank you.

Downloading the photo took just about FOREVER on my Android with Wi-Fi - - very unusual.

I hope it's okay to provide the photo (2nd one) for folks who may have had a similar problem.

ETA: okay, enough. 45 minutes is much too long to spend on this and I'm totally frustrated. I tried downloading the photo 4 times, just in case the EOF marker didn't get on here - - then I tried three or four times for each of the photo downloads to try to attach the picture here and continually got a message that the operation timed out.

Photographers on other topics have posted their photo as well as a download link - - is there any way you can simply do that ???
