I'm very new at digital photography (since January). I keep reading about shutter count. I have a Nikon D3200. How do I find out the information of how many pictures I took? Also while I'm at it, what does the "Fn" button do. I lost my manual so I don't have that info.
Thanks in advance

If you use photoshop, you can also get the shutter actuations.
open raw file>file menu>file info>advanced tab>schema (ns.adobe.com/exif/1.0/aux >toggle on and read "aux:ImageNumber

i don't think this works with jpegs files.

i would suggest you definitely consider africa. ebola was in west africa, not even close to south africa or east africa. i would stay away from kenya right now.
i am definitely planning on going back to namibia/botswana. it is really a trip of a lifetime.
i have friends that were there this summer and some are going in october.

if you do decide not to go, i might suggest austrailia. there is so much to see there too. so many photo opps.

i use a black rapid strap, but put a ring on the camera where the strap attaches to it and hook the black rapid there. doesn't interfere with the quick release tripod plate.
i have also tried the boss strap, which also attaches to the side of the camera.

With a Sony Adapter I can use all my Minolta and A mount lens.I have 12 lens I can attach to this camera including my Tamron 150-600 lens ,when I want to hand held this lens

i also have the adapter for my minolta lenses. i find it difficult to make any changes eg iso, fstop, when the adapter is on. it isn't recognized by the camera. how do you manage this?
thanks in advance.

What are your recommendations for a very High quality,
compact, mirror less, camera? (Leica lenses? Or equivalent?)
It doesn't have to fit into my pants pocket.
Or am I asking for too much?

check the link above. i don't have high quality lenses for the mirrorless. i am not ready to give up my nikon and just wanted to play with the mirrorless to see the difference. i have the 2 kit lenses and i did get a 50 mm 2.8 sony.

What adapter are you using for your Nikon lenses?

i am using Fotodiox NIK-NEX Nikon Nikkor Lens to Sony Alpha Nex E-mount Camera Lens Mount Adapter. got it on amazon.
it will not allow autofocus, or changes to the camera. so i set up the camera with the sony lens then use the adapter with a nikon lense.

Okay, they say they are offering free fonts, with very limited usage rights, but how would someone actually use these? Clicking on Download didn't do much.

i use the fonts for different watermarks on my images. i have also used fonts if i want to add text to an image. I also use fonts in Word.

here is some info on installing fonts in word.

Looking for recommendations on mirrorless cameras. I am a hobiest not a professional and do street, architectural and some landscape photography. My budget is a $2,000.

i am a nikon shooter, i did buy the sony a 6000 and i am happy with it. it has some great features, fastest focusing of the mirrorless cameras. i did buy an adapter to use my nikon lenses with it. below is a photo i took with the panorama feature on the USS, Intrepid.

here is a good article on mirrorless cameras

Lens Bumper advertising says it can be used with hoods, but it comes in kinda generic sizes so it maybe depends on the particular lens.

i spoke with the rep at photo expo, he was aware of this issue. i was trying to use it on my nikon d700 & d300, didn't work with the bumper.

A few days ago there was a topic about Lens Bumpers and no one thought it was good idea but this might be the time?

i had gotten one from photo expo. what was frustrating to me, is you cannot use the lens bumper with a hood...i would rather use the hood than the bumper, so i don't use it at all.
