Go with anything bigger than a 16 gauge and aim well...sometimes they charge when wounded. Found one as big as my outstretched hand trapped in a bucket in my house once...I considered just burning the house down around it.
Milling machines on the right and left, lathe in the middle. I worked in a machine shop like this years ago. Generally all machines were driven by a single motor. I remember that the whole building shook when starting it up.
My only regret about the D3400 kit is the 70-300 mm lens, no VR! Stupid!
I agree with you. That lens is hard to hold steady. And it has a plastic mount. But, I have taken some nice shots with it. One think I have tried is to raise my shutter speed along some burst shots. I get lucky sometimes
