I put just one photo through the HDR process and this is what I got. I know HDR is about blending the different exposures, but sometimes you got to bend the rules.

Using Photoshop CC or CS - You use one of the lasso tools to draw a line a long the edge of the roof and etc. and then continue the line around an inch above the roof and trees and draw it back until the line touches the starting point of you line . Then you use the clone tool to take a sample just above the area you want to cover - then move left or right - take another sample - click to cover the area you want to remove - move again - do the same thing . Moving and making a new sample will let you keep the same lightness or darkness in that area . I went ahead and removed the bright area for you . Tommy

This is called a halo. It definitely pulls you away from the subject, it follows around the trees and barn. What do you use for PP?

Yes. It was suggested that I post it here since it is an HDR image.

Post the picture & question in the HDR forum, you might get more response as those who work more with HDR stay over there and your Topic title didn't mention HDR.

Go to Home/All Sections and you will find the HDR forum section.

Thank you

I combined three pictures in Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 to get this. I like the way it makes the tin pop on the barn. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the outline (glow) at the top of the barn to go away. Do you think it detracts from the picture? Any comments and help will be greatly appreciated

[quote=Shakey]You gotta like it! Beautiful photograph. I'm reduced to nit picking so in that context . . . . .

The sun is too bright and could be toned down a tad. The image is divided in half by the horizon. Technically it would be better to crop out some sky or, alternatively, crop away some of the boardwalk and water.

This looks like a wonderful grab shot, so there was no hope for waiting until the sun was below the horizon. (No posing with moving boats.)
Thank you. I was lucky to be there at that time.

I took these with a Canon 7D, Canon 300mm f4 with a Canon 1.4 extender. I had to really crop these to get them in close which brought up the noise level. I was wondering if anyone had use a Canon 2x extender with this lens and camera? My main concern is the softness of the focus. I know that I will lose f stops. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to go to Africa in 2015 and want to start working on a good lens set up.

Unfortunately circumstances frequently prevent us from photographing a scene from a different angle or perspective. I fully understand as this has happened to me countless times.

In any event, I find all of your renditions to be appealing images. 8-)

Thank you and have a great day

Interesting image, however, if I was to reshoot it I would compose it differently and have the open space to the left of the boat, not the right. The boat is too tight to the edge in my opinion. 8-)

I agree. There was a highway on the left side and I could not go any further that way.

#3 is a bit more gentle and softer. Just a slightly more serene feel than #2. I also like #2, though, as a HOT summertime shot :)
