Yes, otherwise it would be useless--to me at least.

Works well, takes a little getting used to the technique, or you can end up with a LOT of images to sort.

LG 27UP850-W 27” UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Monitor

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=LG+27UP850-W+27”+UHD+%283840+x+2160%29+IPS+Monitor

I own and love this monitor. The screen is a near-identical match for my MacBook Air's P3 monitor, so I calibrate them to match with the SpyderXElite.

It does what I bought it to do... It powers the laptop via USB-C. It acts as a (slow) USB-A hub, connecting my wired keyboard and backup drive. It can accept HDMI and DisplayPort input. It rotates to vertical or horizontal. It is height adjustable. It is accurate...

Can you use it so that the menus for, say, LR are displayed on the Macbook, and the image only is displayed on the monitor? Thanks!

Armed civilians protecting themselves prevent thousands of deliberate shootings every year. These are seldom reported on because they don't fir the narrative. The tragic examples like the one you cited here, however, are exploited to the max.

Sounds like an individual who was very poorly trained. The vast majority of CC holders know better than to shoot an unarmed shoplifter. You seem to have very little respect for your fellow citizens, if you think they are not generally capable of using firearms resposibly.

Not sure if your comment and mine here will violate the politics ban here in UHH. I now live in Texas, near Dallas, but I have lived all over the USA from west to east, California to New York.

As a news photojournalist for over four decades I have seen too many criminal acts and covered too many sad stories and sad funerals of innocent civilians, adults and kids killed in accidental crossfires, mass shootings, or just private gun accidents.

What this world does not need is more civilians shooting it out on the streets with criminals, that should be left to licensed and trained professional law enforcement. Protecting from intruders inside your home is one thing, but many of these robberies are taking place outdoors where innocent civilians are at risk from any gunfire. FYI, I have worked with the Police on many undercover stings and operations as a photojournalist over the decades, and I have a few decorated career law enforcement officers in my extended family.

The fact that almost everyone in Texas carries a gun and can carry them almost anywhere makes my feel far less safe than I did living and traveling in most other states and countries, and I have faced live gunfire on the streets of the USA and in foreign war conflicts doing my job as a photojournalist. That is a risk I signed up for as a photojournalist, but civilians shouldn't be victims, innocent , accidentally or on purpose from carriers of the estimated nearly 350 million guns in private hands in our country. Just check the news any week in the USA, sadly.

More guns in civilian hands carried on the open streets is NOT the answer to these robberies. IMHO.

Cheers and best to you.

Thanks all for your replies...looks like it will be the OM-1 with the OM-D EM1 or the new OM-5 as a 2nd body.

If you need a second body, consider a used mkIII--mine of course.

But I should tell you I'm planning on a second OM-1 because I want both bodies identical to avoid confusion when in a hurry to switch bodies to catch that perfect shot.

Comments about how the EM1X fits into this comparative analysis from M43 users?

I've had the EM-1, the mkII, the mkIII, and the EM-1X. The OM-1 beats them all. Even the bird AI is better on the OM1 than on the X.

The mkII has starry night AI, and the X has bird AI. The OM-1 has both.

That said, my mkIII and X are both for sale here for a combined price of less than a new OM-1.

USA version, I am the original owner, bought new from Amazon in June 2020. Includes original box, manual, and all accessories. I am including an extra OEM battery charger and two extra OEM batteries, so you get a total of two chargers and four batteries, all original equipment.

I always used the electronic shutter on all my Olympuses, so the mechanical shutter count is virtually zero.

Excellent condition. Currently selling new on Amazon for $1899.99. (Without the extra batteries and charger.) Asking $1250. Includes free shipping, USPS priority in lower 48.

Good stuff, Mike. Haven't been to that particular location, but been to Moab several times, mountain biking, kayaking/rafting, and rock climbing. Did the white rim trail twice on mountain bikes with an escort vehicle. Good times, but haven't been there in a long while.

I've seen these birds several times since this thread was last active, always in the company of adult little blues.
