Sports Illustrated no longer has photographers that are considered on staff or on the pay roll they were all kicked to the curb January 23, 2015 there were officially six staff photographers. The firing took place just prior to the time Sports Illustrated would have sent most of the photography staff to the Super Bowl. So there is no longer any anticipation from their photographers to see which one got a cover page, or double page. I subscribed to Sports Illustrated and used it as a yard stick for what great sports photos should look like. Each week I would eagerly await the latest issue, and yes I just looked at the pictures in most instances.
On January 16, 2016 Sports Illustrated/Time inc. laid off Brad Smith whose job it was to gate keeper. In 2014 Smith later gave an hour long presentation on the future of sports photography on how photographers could find work at other magazines. Pete Souza was the Official Photographer for former President Ronald Reagan and former President Barack Obama as well as the Chicago Tribune, which also jettisoned it photographer staff Mr Souza stated he shot 20,000 images a week. Mr Souza's photos inside of the situation room during the 911 attack became the most viewed image on Flickr at that time. Mr Souza was a member of Sports Shooter at one time also.
Shooting sports photos is an expensive profession. At one time Scott Kelby gave a lecture on becoming a sports photographer. At the start of the stage he used a suit case filled with cash on the stage to emphasize how expensive it is to a well equipped sport photographer. I most photographers shoot with at least two bodies to make sure they capture all the actions and don't have to switch from the long super telephoto i.e. 300mm, 400,, or 200-400 mm, to a second lens and body for wider angle shots.

Can you imagine what a trip to the restroom would be like, by the time he removed all of the cameras and lens. If he used all the bodies and lens by shooting with a couple and triggering the remainder, Pocket Wizard must consider him a platinum customer. A clue is you look in the right hand side of the photo might be the leader board in the back ground, had to be a sports shooter

I agree some decent shots based on low shutter speed. Set your shutter speed at no less than 1/500 to capture the action. In some cases higher shutter speeds might be necessary lighting of the venue will certainly dictate the speeds. If you want to rather then shooting wide open or 2.8 shoot at the next stop down. Use center point focus or spot focus to capture the faces of the "little folks" in action. Use AV or A mode depending you find works best for your setting, venue, subjects etc. One of the main ideas of sports photography is to keep the players in sharp focus while the back ground is not sharply focused. Sharp focus may not be cured by post processing.

Very well done, nice to see a model that has such a great body to shoot and not a tat covered canvas

Many sport venues have netting for protection. Place the lens against the netting against the net, use center or single point focus. In some instances depending on the point where you are allowed to shoot netting focus problems can be eliminated by controlling the f/stop and manual focus settings. So many venues now do not use netting, they have taken then cheaper or what might be a longer lasting protection chain link fencing especially high school programs the same solution helps, you have to press the lens and lens hood against a link that provides the best focused shot of the pitcher, or the batter at the plate. As Don Gallagher has mentioned the closer you are to the netting eliminates the problem with netting at times.

I have to agree with images where the horizons are not straight, or time was not taken to straighten the horizons, it does not take long to correct.
Huge watermarks that destroy what could be a a keeper shot.

I started with a Mac mini years ago then to 17" Inch Macbook, inch 20"iMac" I use a 27" iMac now and dread using the Windows machine I use an an additional off my machine storage area, I so cringe. If go to the Apple website, take a look at the refurbs, find one that fits you specifications, and see your savings. No matter where you buy your Mac purchase Apple care it not only extends the warranty period, the technical support feature also. Shop the the Apple store on Boyston Street and see if they have demos or open box savings. My last purchase was a open box purchase from the local Mac Store and I saved money, had them add RAM and saved money.

If you are still experiencing problems you can to Adobe support and start a chat session with one of their techs, they are very patient and helpful, in resolving issues. Open the Adobe CC app, in the upper right hand corner access the help section of the app, use that feature to start a chat session.

I purchased my Canon 100-400 lens from KEH, it is not a version II, which means is a push pull zoom feature. I borrowed a Sigma before the purchase, but it did not seem as sharp on the edges especially with an Extender. Don't be the coulda had a V-8 person. Buy the Canon and you won't be a shoulda coulda buyer with remorse. I shoot sport so I would mount the 100-400 with an Extender on a tripod, in center field and use a Pocket Wizard to fire it. Then I could get close shots of the pitcher, batter, infielders, base runners so it was like having a second shooter

Try shooting RAW, in the AV mode so you can control the ISO. Then use Topaz DeNoise to remove as much noise as you desire to improve your images.

If ya like to gamble with your camera budget, enjoy frustration, then go ahead make their day be a victim and get under the spell of 42nd Street or Abe's, hint the original Abe's filed bankruptcy several years ago. The usual camera on line sellers are tops for a reason Adorama, B&H, Amazon etc. for a reason they don't engage in bait and switch tactics, they don't charge you credit card until you order has been shipped.

Check the battery terminals on the battery itself, could be slight corrosion that might be preventing a good battery connection. Have the battery voltage checked to see if it might be dead. Go to Fuji's support website and see if others might have experienced the same issue with their camera. See if possibly there might be a firmware update you have not installed. Contact Fuji to is it they can check the issue
