Well, someone gave me a copy of PaintShop Pro X5 so I'm going to try that one. Since I have some of the other's trial versions I will tinker with them as well.
Now, a question: In PaintShop Pro, how do you get two of the same picture up on the pallet in order to compare "before and after" when you are re-working them?
Thanks
Rebride ia that free offer on the level or a trial version?
I'm hearing a lot about Photo Shop Elements. Is that also an Adobe app.? Maybe I should just Google it.....:)
HDR merges is something I will want to do at some point. It really seems to dramatically affect the finished
photograph. So, yes there are some of the more advanced things I'll be trying. But I think that's available in both.
I know that the Adobe app. does a lot more, but as a hobbiest do I really need it or will the Paint Shop Pro do what I need it to do, which is mostly manipulate images to make them look my conception of what is best....lol.
Also I'd just like to hear your experienced opinions on each.
Thanks so much for all the nice words guys. They are appreciated. I will have questions down the road and I feel like I will get some answers here.
Actually, I've learned quite a bit on the Nikon tutorial page:

Mostly, I've been reading about Composition, but am realizing that I really need to learn how to work the camera.
Well let me be the first to welcome you 'lil'. :) Actually I'm not new to SLR.....just new to the filmless variety.
I'm hoping I'm not too old to get this stuff......
This is my first crack at Digital. I just bought a Nikon d5100 and am really happy with it. However I am clueless at what most of the nuances of the camera are about....lol
Just learning to adjust f-stops and shutter speeds is proving a challenge. Hope to learn some of the necessary things here without driving too many of you too crazy.
