I mostly shoot in RAW but in some case, I will shot in jpg to save place.
my question is, when I import, the set might has the mix of RAW and JPG, to make my life easy, can I just use DNG import and what will happen to the jpg file?
is that a good idea or I should do something else.
thanks.

My experience with LR5 is when trying to import jpg's with "Convert to DNG" set, LR will bring in the jpg's as jpg's and display an error message that non-raw files cannot be converted. I've never pursued this issue and do not know if there is a setting somewhere to do something else.

Thanks Sirius
Thanks angler.

I'm not too happy with the framing, but the action took all of 3 seconds. Just glad to have anything at all.

Ah, lovely. Just as I remember. Been decades since I was there. Used to take the kids there on a Sunday drive every year - until they grew up! Glad to see the place is still going strong. Thanks for the memory jolt.
Love the back-lit single shot.

Now that everybody, and their brother/sister, has a camera phone , and with them ALL the time, we sure don't see any UFO photos anymore. Reckon why that is? Do the UFOs, just don't come around anymore?

They are still there! Just moved to the Southern Hemisphere. Just last year over Mt. Cook:

Don't feel bad. That's a common problem. For future reference -

Don't put the filter on tightly. When it's on, give it a turn occasionally to make sure it's okay.

Buy a set of filter wrenches. http://www.amazon.com/Camera-Filter-62mm-77mm-Filters-Package/dp/B003TOWNT0

Apply a bit of WD-40 or graphite with your finger to the threads before attaching the filter.

Get Xume magnetic adapters. http://www.xumeadapters.com/

As a last resort, if you gently cut into the filter ring with a hacksaw, you will be able to remove it from the lens.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT use WD-40. It gets into everything, that is why it is called penetrating oil. You do not want it seeping into your lens. It is also a fantastic dust magnet. Graphite is ok, but can be messy. A dry teflon lubricant would be best.
Ultimately, avoid filters and rings made of aluminum. Aluminum threads have a tendency to gall and jam on. Plastic or brass will not gall and tend to be self-lubricating. Brass is best as it is more rigid.

If you are looking for scanning only, no PP, Costco offers that service. I haven't used it, but they do good quality and reasonable pricing on their other services.

Blood Moon with Spica at 11 0'clock.
Shot in Sparks, NV 12:20am with a Panasonic fz100 full zoom (cropped) 1.0sec f5.2. (my new 70D is in a UPS truck somewhere midamerica).
Zoom in and stars are visible in the background. At first I thought it was dust on my monitor!

NOW you tell me! I just popped for a Canon 70D at Adorama. Just kidding. I spent 2 weeks researching a new camera (and upgrade) after my Panasonic FZ200 was stolen. (And all 300 images in it were prize-winner material  ) What a chore balancing needs, desires and budget.

Is there a way to reverse the pictures in the film strip ? It seems every once in a while my pictures are in reverse order , as in taking multiple pics of a sports seen and then later noticing the batter and the ball are working in reverse order , any ideas ?

At the bottom of the grid view window there is a menu bar which includes an "A/Z" button (by sort order) that reverses the order in the film strip. Perhaps you are accidentally clicking on this button occasionally. I know that I occasionally cause strange things to happen with a random careless click.

Read the fine print on the policy (usually available after you buy it!) Most of those drops and spills insurance have a lot of "excepts", like weather and blowing dust.
Do check with your homeowners (or renters) insurance company for a rider to cover your equipment. My AAA coverage is $17/yr for $500 coverage. And it covers everything: drips, spills, rain, theft, etc. On verification of loss they will send you a check for replacement value up to your $ limit. I just got a check to replace my stolen camera. Took 2 days.

LR does not seem to want to copy files to different folders, only move them. The only way I have found is to copy the file across using the operating system, then "Synchronize Folder ..." the target folder in LR. The copied file will then show up in the new destination folder and still be in the source folder
