Both my parents are immigrants. My father came from Ireland and he always used to laugh at the St Paddy's Day meal in the US. This is a US version of what the Irish ate on a religious day in the 1930's Ireland.

Thought I'd promote an Irish food dish. Little did I realize this was not true! Hear in Boston, MA, St. Patrick's Day parade was cancelled.

So, I thought my recipe of corned beef & cabbage would be a nice treat . . . CIAO, AP

Looks yummy. Most supermarkets sell corned beef at lower prices during St. Patrick's Day. One of my favorite sandwiches, at my local delicatessen, is corned beef on rye, or sourdough bread. With a quarter slice of a dill pickle.

Hi, mas24, and Welcome! I am told my recipe, corned beef & cabbage is not a common Irish recipe, how about that, I never knew that!

But, I know corned beef & cabbage, and this dish is very tasty indeed! AP

hope you didn't have a hard time finding your corned beef. we just picked up two cases with six packkers weighing 16lbs each. my girls celebrate st. Patrick day every year. smoke two into pastrammi and the rest just like how you made yours. happy St. Patrick day sir.

Welcome, shadows creation! Hear in Boston, MA - St. Patrick's Holiday is celebrated BIG time. This year St. Patrick's Day Parade was canceled. Sad indeed! No heavy laughter, no green beer, no fun and happiness!

But! I made corned beef & cabbage American style, so the whole day was not wasted! The taste was very pleasing . . . AP

Yesterday's dinner - St. Pattie's Day - "Corned Beef & Cabbage". I was able to buy a small Corned Beef in my food store for a good deal! The dinner above was tasty as can be . . .

I added 1/3c more of Pickling spices to the water in my 8L pressure cooker, not electric! Started cooking on high then lowering the temp low, total cooking time about two hours in my pressure cooker! Meat did not shrink that munch!

After cooling down, I removed the meat and placed it in a dish on the side. The water was very flavorful from the added pickling spices. The veggies were then added to the water except the cabbage. Two very large carrots, two medium potatoes, three celery stocks, chopped about two inches then added to the pot.

Once the water started to boil, I covered the pot and cooked for ten minutes. Next I cut the cabbage in half then in half again. After ten minutes I released the pressure and the cover and placed the cabbage on top of the veggies and cooked for fifteen more minutes . . . DONE ! Very, very, tasty! CIAO, AP

Welcome, chase4! This is another simple dish to fix, and it is tasty indeed. If we slow down on the food we eat, we will live longer and in good health, and save money in the long run! CIAO, AP

Cooking swordfish is quick and easy as can be. Steady watching while cooking is needed so it's not over cooked. Looks like Chicken as you can see, but it's Swordfish Steak!

Cooked on med-high to high in the beginning, brown bottom of fish as shone and turn with lowing the heat and partially cover in small frying pan, about 2-3 minutes that's it, NO-LONGER for this about one inch piece.

I use frozen veggies these days it's faster! Big selection in the food store to choose from, I never knew it till I looked! Cooked frozen with one 14.5 can of chicken stock on med-high. Seasoned after after cooking is done about 7-8 minutes!

I added two tabs of butter and sprinkled: Oregano, Sweet Basle, Black Cracked Pepper, and cracked Dill all over veggies . . .

I do save on my fish. I BUY only on sale. This Swordfish was a small whole pice, but large to cut in half! Once again, this is a Fast and easy recipe to try. Not to much to do and buy! I mix my frozen . . . CIAO, AP

Looks great. Continue with your posts and ignore the negative. As they say there's always one in the crowd.

Welcome, poprock48! Thank You for your positive comment. If one makes a fine photo, does that mean he can pass judgement on other photos? No of course not, he can state his opinion. All photographs have to tell a story, have something to say and show!

As you know, at times, people say the wrong things! They speak too fast in their response. CIAO, AP

Hmm, wondering what to have for dinner tonight. That looks delish. Thanks for sharing your photo and recipe.

Welcome, Wingpilot! You cannot beat chicken. Many people would rather eat chicken breast. But, the darker meat is more taster. HOW'S THAT! AP

Thanks AP.......looks & sounds great. Cherry tomatoes have more intense flavor profiles and are quick and easy to add into a saute'd dish or casserole and your green vegetables are not over-cooked.......ce bon.

Glad to see you again mon ami....keep on cooking.

Welcome, Blair Shaw Jr! Thank You, you wrote a lot of kind words! I have to say, this was a very tasty dish. Pulling the skin off the chicken when I started made big difference. With olive oil & butter in the pan, of the well seasoned chicken browned perfect!

I did not mention, I also added a 1/2 glass of white wine when sautéing! Please try this dish, it's simple, fast, and not expensive at all! CIAO, AP
