Thank you for that feedback as well. Dad always had a Nikon and produced many photos in his darkroom. He wasn't one who babied his equipment, as the photos show. lol
I still have many photos he took during WWII. He was a photographer and was stationed in the South Pacific.
Some of his best shots during civilian life was of bridges. All in B&W.

And if you should be interested in trying it out for yourself, you can download user manuals, not only for the “F," but also for the Ftn finder and the battery pack/motor drive here: http://www.butkus.org/chinon/nikon.htm :)

Your best bet is to go by the actual dimensions of the bag, since there is no definition for "compact camera."

Right, and that’s inside dimensions of course. Also, whether or not a battery grip is going to be used is the real “size factor” to consider.

Its a joke from when George Bush started his second term.

A “George Bush version” (posted just about 11 years ago):

An Israeli doctor says: “Medicine in my country is so advanced, that we can take a kidney out of one man, put it in another, and have him looking for work in 5 weeks"

A German doctor says: "That's nothing. We can take a lung out of one person, put in in another, and have him looking for work in 4 weeks."

A Russian doctor says: "In my country, medicine is so advanced that we can take half a heart of one person, put it in another, and have them both looking for work in 2 weeks".

The American doctor, not to be outdone, says: "You guys are way behind. We just took a man with no brains out of Texas, put him in the White House and now half the country is looking for work".

Not from the UK dennis. If the Brits were to make up a joke like that they certainly wouldn't use a US president as the butt of the joke!!

Here’s what seems to be a British version :) (not sure of the date):

An Israeli doctor says, 'Medicine in my country is so advanced, we can take a kidney out of one person, put it in another and have him looking for work in 6 weeks'.

A German doctor says, 'That's nothing, we can take a lung from one person, put it in another and have him looking for work in 4 weeks'.

The English doctor says, 'Hah! That's pathetic. We can take an arsehole from Scotland, put him in 10 Downing Street and have half the country looking for work in within 24 hours.’

Thus, the sharing and use of the model release is valid, legal, and ethical.

Nonsense, but rather than get into a discussion with you, I suggest that anyone wanting to use this Model Release, get in touch with Shutterstock directly and ask them about the matter.

This is a pretty good release, from the huge stock agency Shutterstock.com. If you don't plan to deal with Shutterstock, revise the release as needed by removing its name.

The original is at:

I tried to attach a copy of the pdf to this post, but for some reason it didn't work.

It seems ironic to me that you, a copyright freak, are encouraging others to infringe Shutterstock’s copyrighted material. See: WEBSITE TERMS OF USE esp. “USE OF CONTENT” Nos. 14 & 15. http://www.shutterstock.com/website_terms.mhtml

But, seriously, don't do it. You have too good a camera to use a "not in top tier" lens. Plus, you have to manually stop down the aperture. Can your lens even do that?

LOL.

We’re talking here about an investment of $10 or less (there are even cheaper adapters on eBay) which will let the OP play around with a lens he already has. IMO it doesn’t seem like a very big deal to me :)

Hello UHH members. I am new here and this is my first post. I have a Beseler 23c enlarger that came with a 35mm neg. carrier and a 6x6 carrier. I will never shoot 6x6 but I do shoot 6x7. Would it work out if I was to grind down the 6x6 to hold the 6x7 negative or will I just ruin the carrier. I can get a 6x7 carrier for $110, but would rather spend that on a 6x4.5 carrier that I also need($110). I will be doing mainly B&W. I have a Burke&James Solar that I do my B&W 6x9 with. My Beseler has the dual di-chro head so it would be nice to do a little color in 6x7 and 6x4.5 also.

For what it's worth, there's a 6x7 carrier on eBay from Hammond Camera for $45.00 + S&H -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/BESELER-8070-2-1-4-x-2-3-4-6x7-NEGATIVE-CARRIER-for-23c-enlargers-645-/201056052829?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ecfdfe65d

Does that provide heat? Might be good for keeping a snack warm.

No, but it does have a mesh pocket inside to accommodate a heater.

I don’t like gloves at all so for outdoor sessions I take them off and use one of these “sports handwarmer” things to keep circulation flowing. Fits around the waist (where I sure don’t need any extra padding :)) and looks a little dopey, but hell, it works for me.

Is the camera old or relatively new? Was is manufactured or made by hand?

Handmade. I think they are currently selling for about $4K USD. Can't tell the age exactly. Here's a repost of the link in my reply to wilsondl2 (Dave) on page 3 --http://www.largeformatphotography.info/canham/canham.html

Can a camera's serial number be ascertained from pictures taken by that camera and then posted on the Internet?

I did a quick check using PhotoMe, and serial number is displayed in the EXIF data for the original raw DNG image (below) however, it no longer appears in the data for the converted image (using ACR/CS5.1), either TIFF or JPEG. I don’t know anything about other camera brands or originals recorded in some other format but I feel confident in saying that you won’t be able to determine serial number from one of my images "...posted on the Internet" :)
