A lot of the ducks and geese around here have little ones now. Here are a couple of shots I made today.

They're not violets, they are orchids.

Yeah, that is the problem. I have a bulb release left from when I used Minolta's. I am going to see if the Ricoh CA-1 might work.

Is there such thing as a remote shutter release for my Canon SX10iS ?. If so, where can I purchase one. I know I can use the 10 second self timer but this just doesn't do the job. Thanx in advance.

Please feel free to critique and criticize.
#1- I waited until the sun was directly overhead and shining down inside tulip for effect. Exposed for brightest part of flower to achieve the soft effect. Background was in deep shadow so this allowed background to go black while getting correct exposure on highlight.
#2-One of my wife's houseplants sitting near a window sill with sunlight shining through window. Simply put a black poster board behind it, exposed for the highlight and shot.
#3-Same houseplant but with red poster board for background. Wanted dark lower area to be a little lower but window sill and other obstructions prevented me shooting from a lower angle. Didn't dare move plants around. Could always photo shop it.

Started back in 1945 with a Kodak box camera then got an Argus A2 then an Argus C3 and then won a Minolta SRT 101 which got me really serious about photography. At one time had 68 different cameras. Got my first DSLR a few years ago and spend many happy hours out with my Canon SX10iS.

Happy to read and see photos of Reelfoot. Lived across the river in Missouri until 1961 and visited the area often, always eating at Boyettes. I was wondering a few days ago if it was still there. I seem to remember country ham and red-eye gravy. Enjoyed your photos very much.

I've shot several spoonbills but this one has more color than any I have ever seen. Never saw one with that marking before either. Beautiful photograph also.

First two are perfection. Third is too busy for my taste. Hard to distinguish the subject.
