Here are three Sunsets from my neighborhood in San Antonio Del Mar, Tijuana, BC, Mexico. My wife and I are ex-pats, we moved down here last May and are loving it.
The two sunset shots were taken from our rear balcony and the seaweed sunset is on the beach and is an HDR. I used HDR because the scene had to much contrast between the bright sky and the dark seaweed. I point this out because of previous comments about the use of HDR. I did like the artist interpretation when he over processed his HDR images and I have done that in the past to evoke the feeling I wanted to convey at the time.
The art of Photography has nothing to do with a literal rendering of a scene but with the feelings/message one is trying to convey. We are trying to show the viewer what we felt during that 1/1000 of a second that we pushed the shutter. The greats in photography are Masters because they were able to do just that. The final images of all the masters have always been manipulated to in the darkroom or computers to get the feel and message of the decisive instant.
