There is some clarification needed here. Much of what is termed foreign aid, is funneled through the State Department and includes things like the cost of running embassies, the cost of military (sometimes private) protection for US delegations and consuls, travel and speaking fees for foreign and US personnel. All of this goes under the "foreign aid" terminology but is an artefact of US Government accounting. The actual amount of aid is much less and includes such things as $3 billion to Egypt almost all of which goes for military hardware which they of course buy from the US (so we get it back and it creates jobs).

lenben--- I don't believe it. If true, perhaps we need to bring some people home and take care of those Sarge mentioned.

I bought this camera for my wife but I love it, i leave my Nikon D3100 at home and use this. Much better indoors taking pictures of my nephew playing hockey. I used it in St Lucia great quality images....very very happy with it but your right there is a LOT to learn with it

Paayl96--- I am happy with the camera thus far and I am learning fast. Its just a surprise that it was not 600 mm. It does reach out there pretty far and if I purchase the 1.7 TC I think it will serve me purpose as I also hate to carry around all the stuff I used to use.Sorry for the double.

Many zooms do not reach their maximum focal length when focused in close. Were you focusing on something pretty close to you, and does the FZ200 get closer to 600mm if you are focusing something far away?

amehta--- Hi. Thanks for responding. I was focusing on something pretty far away and comparing it with my Canon Xti camera with my 300 f4 lens with a 2x teleconverter on M. focus. Was this a fair comparison?

Recently ordered the FZ200 and after playing around with it I find that it is not a truly 600 mm zoom. More like 500. Also I would like to order the 1.7 converter and was wondering if anyone has this and your thoughts on same. Thank you. Appreciate your help as I am learning this cameras features.

The Western Tanager is a new bird for me. I don't know if they're migrating or if they've wintered here. According to Sibley's guide book, their normal range is west of the Mississippi. All seven taken using Canon 100-400. Please download for better quality.

Wonderful shots Dixiegirl. As they say, "you done good".

An Irish priest was transferred to Texas. Father O'Maley rose from his bed one morning. It was a fine spring day in his new West Texas mission parish. He walked to the window of his bedroom to get a deep breath of the beautiful day outside. He then noticed there was a jackass lying dead in the middle of his front lawn. He promptly called the local police station. The conversation went like this: "Good morning. This Sergeant Jones. How might I help you?" "And the best of the day the yourself. This is Father O'Malley at St. Ann's Catholic Church. There's a jackass lying dead ion me front lawn and would ye be so kind as to send a couple o;yer lads to take care of the matter?"

Sergeant Jones, considering himself to be quite a wit and recognizing the foreign accent, thought he would have a little fun with the good father, replied, "Well now Father, it was always my impression that you people took care of the last rites!"

There was dead silence on the line for a long moment…..Father O'Mallley then replied:"Aye, 'tis certainly true; but we are also obliged to notify the next of kin first, which is the reason for me call."

Ok---you have heard that one before. How about this one:
One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that here mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head. She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked,"Why are some of your hairs white, Mum?" Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry of unhappy, one of my hairs turns white?"The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and said,"Mummy, how come ALL of grandmas's hairs are white?"

As I was checking the manual I remembered that I could not find out how to format the card in the camera. I gave Panasonic a call and they walked me through it. I'm getting older so I don't feel bad any more asking for help. Since you only say there is 6 pages I would give them a shout. They were very helpful. Not a long wait to get a person either. Hope this helps in your case. Let us know what happens.
Try this:
If you are not in the set up mode there are only 6 pages.
When you press Menu/Set and the screen comes up press the left side of the Menu/Set then go down to the wrench on the left side. You should now see 8 pages on the top. You can move faster between pages by using the Zoom lever on the top of the camera. This will jump from one page to the next.

Orch-- Thanks for taking time to help me. I guess I am in the set up mode and not smart enough to get out of it but I will keep trying. I have a hammer near so that should fix it..right.

Welcome yo UHH. I also own a FZ200 and am very pleased with it. Got some very good moon shots and one is framed in my den. Friends ask how I got that shot. I just tell them with a camera. It's a great bridge camera IMO and should give you years of enjoyment. It has outstanding reviews as well. Make sure you go to You tube and follow the tutorials from Graham Houghton as this will assist you in learning the camera.

Orca-- I cannot find out how to format a card in the camera. Can you help? Thanks.
