Are you in China? If not I may be able to help you. Shipping cost to China would be more the cost of the camera.

Yes, am in China, but would have you ship to my brother (who is also a photographer) in The Washington D.C. area and I would get them on my next visit and carry here myself, so shipping for both you and me is not crazy. Happy to pay for the shipping, too.

Hi all,

I am always looking for antique and old cameras. Let me explain... I teach college photography classes and use the old cameras to explain the history of cameras and how that relates to the history of the time. A good example of this would be the fake Leica that has the German Olympic markings, which is actually Russian. The story of this camera revolves around WW2 and so I use it to explain the time and situation and how it relates to photography at that particular time.

Anyway, I will consider just about anything and have everything from a 120 year old Kodak A2 to a K2 and a disc camera to a Nikon Z7, and everything between those. All welcome to tell me what you have and I will consider.

Cordially,

Mark Lent

The exposure for the moon is actually the same as daylight. So, in the examples shown here you have greatly overexposed the moon because the remainder of the scene is so dark. If you want detail in both, I would recommend you do the following things:

Shoot in RAW mode. You will have far greater adjustments to the blacks, whites and contrast with a RAW file. I constantly preach this to my students and in class, do a demo of a RAW file vs. a JPEG and they are amazed at the difference.

Next, if I were shooting this, I would try to do this earlier in the evening. You can still get the Moon, but will have better detail in the background and in the buildings. The other advantage of this is that you will get the moon lower on the horizon, so you can crop more like a panoramic, which to me in your situation would be desirable.

And finally, if you can't balance the light, you should shoot one image of the scene exposing for the land and buildings and the next shot in the exact same position exposing for the Moon, which should be about 1/250th @F8 with an ISO of 400. Then in your image editing software merge the two images so that the optimal exposure for each is shown.

Hope this helps.

Hey, I may be in your city in the near future. If that happens, I'll give you a head's up. Coffee is on me.

Some great perspectives, color ligh on boy, etc. Not crazy about the pincushion effect.

Actually, it isn't pincushion, but convergence. If it were pincushion, it would bow outward at the top and bottom of the image and be significantly drawn in toward the center of the image, or visa-versa, depending on the lens design. Big difference, but I understand what you're saying. I did do the corrections in Photoshop, but just didn't like the crop or the appearance after the correction, which I typically do for buildings. I like it as is though and really just shot this for my personal enjoyment. Thank you for your comments.

Hello all,

I have been in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the past several days and have just loved it. Here's a few frames from this city, all shot in the past 4 days. Hope you enjoy!

DSLRs are actually 2X3

DSLR's can be MANY configurations. Mine can shoot 5 different formats- 2:3 all the way "up" to 16:9.

Here is China, most people use high quality projectors rather than LCD televisions. Space is at a premium here, so having the projector ceiling mounted with wireless controls is the way to go. Plus, it makes it into a cool home cinema, because you can use as much wall space as you want. The screens are painted onto the walls, and there is a special paint available for this specific purpose. I do not know the name, but it seems you could go to a reputable paint store and see if they carry it. If not, a flat, bright white will do as well.

Some of the older tripods required a bit of maintenance to keep them in good working condition. They also listed the parts and many even listed the size and threading of the screws, so that if you did need to do any maintenance, you could get the correct part.

In modern video, the format is 16:9 and a round shade would vignette into the image area. Otherwise, it makes zero difference as both block the unwanted stray light equally well. Just comes down to your personal preference.

I need some advice. I pulled the GAS trigger today on a Nikon FF camera to replace my D7500. I'm not a pro. I shoot landscape, still life, and things that don't talk back. I have a full assortment of crop sensor lens, but no FF lens other than a 50mm/1.8. I bought a 24-85 f2.8-f4 Macro to go with the camera. If you had a limited budget, what lens would you get beyond the two I'll have? I enjoy milky way shots, light painting, macro stuff, flowers, waterfalls, and "artsey" stuff. Any suggestions are welcome. FWIW, I've have done two weddings (don't care for the pressure) and I've done a couple of office parties (free drinks). I don't mind manual focus lenses, used lenses, or refurbs if I can return if they've seen their useful life. Thanks for the help. I really do appreciate all the comments even they are a little painful.

You failed to mention which full frame camera you purchased, and this can make a difference in the answers you get. I have a Z7 and it has the ability to use DX lenses. So, check the specific camera and see if you can at least start using the camera with the lenses you have and then slowly upgrade as finances allow.

Beautiful shot here. It looks like you used a bit of fill-flash for this? Very nicely done. In my heart, I want to be a bird photographer. :-)
