Black Falls??? where in Md.??

I grew up in western Md. and never heard of this. Checked Google and found nothing. Perhaps he meant Blackwater Falls in West Va., not too far from Cumberland?

Deep Creek Lake is just south of I-68 and worth a visit. Also, Cumberland is the start of the National Highway (surveyed by Geo Washington) and an interesting town.

Cumberland has the Western Md. Railroad station and offered (pre-Covid) train trips to Frostburg. It is also part of the C&O Canal Park. Lots of interesting architecture.
I-68 has lots of beautiful scenery both east and west of Cumberland.

Haven't done it with a camera, but did it with a large cup of soda. As I started to drive, a girl flagged me down and I stopped, thanked her and retrieved it.

Thank you for the reply. I have checked the bellows, they look good. Can you help me determine if the shutter has been cocked please. I am new to this camera and learning as I go with most of the help is from the Hoggers here.
Thank you for the reply.
Bruce.

It has been many years, well over 60, since I used a camera where the shutter had to be cocked, but I believe there is a small metal lever that you push down until it clicks and that will allow the shutter to work.

Thanks Iron Sight, I got one at Arlington Camera, an Orbit buld, the hose fits it just fine, now to get the shutter to work or I need to figure out how it it does work ?

Most old shutters need to be cocked before you trip them. Also check your bellows for light leaks along the folds.

Kind of wonder what the procedure was to take a picture was?

Not difficult to use, My father had an Ansco that looks like that Kodak and I used it a number of times as a child. All manual, of course, and you had to remember to advance the film after each shot or end up with double exposures. Most difficult part for me was loading the film, but good training for many years of film cameras.

Nice series. That tree was certainly photogenic for you. Perhaps taken down to prevent it falling on the fence?

Beautiful. Reminds me of the big crab apple tree we had in the back yard of the house where I grew up. My mother made crab apple jelly from the fruit.

I believe that at one time licences were issued indicating automatic transmission only or both, but no longer true. My father made me learn on a manual although his and my mother's cars were both automatic. My first car was a cute little TR3 and I'm currently driving an elderly manual Toyota. Love the control the manual transmission gives me, especially in snow.

Wow! Beautiful colors. Would love to see some close ups of the various flowers because none are familiar to me.
