This was taken in Beaufort, NC. Love the area. Beach, great people and wonderful friends.

I shot this when there was no clouds to help block the sun. I am not happy with the results. I have problems with the sun and could use lots of help. Please feel free to edit etc. and let me know what you did. Thank you

Is it Ok to leave this Lens on the camera or should it be packed away after every use. Also I had it on a monopod and I could feel a very slight movement in the camera after locking it in. Is this normal? Ray.

Are you attaching the monopod to the camera or lens?

That's HDR artifacts...you've HDR'd this thing to within an inch of it's life.

That said...here is a tutorial on how to get rid of them.

I know that I pushed it. Just trying new things. Thank you for the information.

Yes, it detracts from the picture and you have over cooked the image. You need to experiment with the sliders and see what the do. I can't remember which one is the cause of it but it's best if you play with it for a few hours to see what does what.

I did that on purpose just to see what it looked like. This the normal HDR that I did.

Here are two quick edits both done in OnOne Software Perfect Mask 8. You can download a 30 day free trial if you are interested.
On the first one I used the sky color from your edit and personally wasn't totally happy with it. The second one I took the sky from your original and darkened it a bit and think I like it better. Please let me know if I'm on the right track.

I like the second one better also. Thank you for your help.

Your HDR opened up the shadows area which is great, but for me it went too far, muddied the sky, and lost color in the grass and trees. It also created the halos at the top of the barn and around the trees which you are already aware of.

Thanks for posting the original. Consider re-doing the HDR for a better over all effect, and still getting your preference on the barn.

I also did this one in HDR. The first one was for different looks on the tin. Thank you

In photoshop, this is an easy fix. Make a copy of the layer. Then use the clone stamp with the blend mode set to darken. Set the opacity to 80% or so, pick a spot close to the area you want to correct and have fun.

I do not have PS. Only have LR5

If I post mine(same problem)...might you do the same for me? Don't get near computer these days after being sick. Do most of my www stuff via phone.

I would be happy to try.

Halo is often seen in some combinations of tone mapping used in HDR processing. You could try adjusting the HDR controls before tone mapping. For me the halo is usually undesirable in my photographs, but I'm sure it has its uses. If the photograph that you visualized in your mind has a halo, go for it. If not, try new tone map settings. Cutting out the halo in Photoshop is certainly possible too.
Thank you I will try it. Always fun to learn.
