Well thank you sorta been to Boston now. Thanks likes your choices of shots. Except the tunnel. Lol
Had to drive through one everyday from Houston to Baytown under the ship channel.
I don't envy you or the Boston drivers. Retired and avoiding the commute. Thanks for the visit. Matt

Great shots. Looks gorgeous and dangerous. Well done. Matt
Summer brings a season of festivals to the North End, Boston's Italian section, where each week could see the celebration of a different patron saint with statues adorned in rich dress, surrounded by money pinned to a form, a parade with society members shouldering a platform bearing an image of the saint, music, and food, food, food. We drove to Bean Town yesterday -- my son was in the driver's seat --to bring him, his wife and our granddaughter to Logan Airport for their flight back home. Our annual tradition is a dinner at Lo Conte's restaurant on Salem Street; we have been going there for almost 15 years.
Here are a few photos from the trip. The festival was honoring St. Agrapinna of Sicily; we caught only the preparatory moments, wanting to avoid the chaos and throng of the actual procession which we have seen in past years.

Hi Matt,
Thank you for your kind words. I did the BW conversion in Lightroom, I find that gets me 98% of the way there.
But the final "trick" I did on these was to run them through Silver EFX Pro2 which is part of the NIK collection which is available for free, it runs either standalone or as a PS or LR plugin.
I like to use this plugin sometimes to get a shot on film look and it adds the borders really nicely. Give it a try.
Best wishes,
James
Thanks James for the suggestions. I appreciate the help. Matt
Thank you. I do wish they happened more often. Matt

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I was referring to visits via your camera and creative eye. Sadly, it has been too many years since I have visited the New England area. Thanks for the BD wish!

Okay. Sorry for the misreading. I may be posting some photos from the trip to Boston yesterday for their flight back home. Stay tuned for more NE pix. Matt

Hello All,
I'm pretty new to UH, this is my first post here, this seems like a nice friendly place to hang out!
I do concert photography around Southern California. I'm a huge live music lover and get out to see bands as often as possible.
Here are a couple of captures I got of legendary blues man Buddy Guy when he was in town recently. Awesome show, highly recommend catching his set if he comes to your town.
Best wishes,
James
James, Superb b&ws. Great range of tones; I love how you handle the blacks, a very difficult challenge for me. Well done. Matt
At low tide in Brewster, on Cape Cod, you can walk a mile out to the water line. On this day, low tide was around noon and the sand was very hot, but a small stream of cold water fed into the bay. As my family made its way onto the mud flats, they followed our granddaughter's lead in the stream. I saw what was developing, ran to the right and waited. If only all had their legs in the same position! Sometimes you have to take what is given. Matt

Beautiful, Matt!
Thank you. I went back to find the photo to try some work around the couple but could not find it. None of the others from the shoot were there either. Don't remember deleting anything but who knows. And I have formatted the memory card. Oh well.
