Am trying to see if I can do a still life with a more contemporary feel. Not sure just what might define that.

Keep experimenting, these series are great and lighting is a work in progress always as there are more ways to light a subject. My favorite is the fruit. The colors shape and textures really got my eye. The blue vase I like but that is what could use a series of lighting changes alone to get a real feel for the characteristics of the glass. But this is good work.

These are lovely shots. It is not hard to tell the sexes apart, their colors are different.

They are all great photos, but I see you got a bee in flight. What a treat.

That photo is so cute and the color scheme is just perfect. This looks like a very professional photo of that adorable puppy.

What a cool set of photos and you are right, these are the kind of shots that would not ordinarily would be shot at Disneyland.

In my life in photography, I have had several shots that serendipity played a big role in how the shot was made. This fell into your lap at the right time and place. It shows that being proactive in the way that you were, also help define what a photographer is. Great shots are not always planned, they sometimes come to you and it is how you take advantage of the moment and you really shined in this photo.

Thank you for your response, katcase. I've been trying hard to come up with a photo good enough to post here when this one happened by accident. I was looking for some harbor shots when I complimented this gentleman about his dog. He seemed quiet but friendly so I asked permission to take a picture.

When I got home, I realized what I had. I'm not trying to be humble but the quiet dignity of this gentleman and his dog is what turned a snapshot into a photograph. It says so much without him saying a word. I just got lucky.

They are both great photos and you are right, the difference in color vs B and W change the perspective of the photo.

I love all three, but number two is definitely a wish list for the kid. Let us see if time really brings out the sports enthusiast in the child.

From what I have been reading the Wild Western Sky has gotten a lot of votes either as first or second choice. All of the photos are wonderful. I would not crop too much but I hope your entry gets the cut. I liked all of them.
