Does anyone in Hoggville have any suggestions for books on portraiture? I may be shooting a friend and her BF soon. This will probably be an outside session, around dusk. Or sun-up. Thx olc

The 'Darkroom' would be your best bet ... !
I have a half dozen rolls of "Kodak High Defination 400" that is more than two decades old ... everything I read says just go for it.
The may be no problems with your film ... I'm gussing that it happens more than we know.

I used a 'Black Rapid' but changed to 'OP/TECH' a couple of years ago ... while I never had even a hint of a problem I did not completely trust mounting the strap to the tripod socket ... !
I now use the 'OP/TECH Utility Strap-Sling' and sometimes the 'OP/TECH Camera Wrist Strap' ... I have taken the precaution to rig a safety strap from the camera to the sling using a 'Tether Safety Strap' from 'Altura Photo'.
This set-up works for me ...

Great portrait and I really enjoyed reading your back-story on the photo! As an aside – for some time I have been displaying some of my favorites on my wall as 8x10s in narrow 11x14 frames … I noticed that the back side of these frames are, for the most part, just a frame … I have now begun to add a “back-story” to the back of the framed print … not that anyone sees it but it makes the print special for me … !
Your back-story is wonderful and adds a great deal to the portrait … many thanks for sharing.

I did not "downsize" to a "point and shoot" but did get a Canon SX60HS ... it has everything I need (right now) ... if the need/desire arrises I can always "upsize" to a more robust camera ...
