AI, like any other cleverly arranged bunch of logic gates, only does what it's told to do. So whether it's "Good" or "Bad" depends entirely on who's doing the telling.

Went from Nikon to Oly m4/3. Kept the Nikons around for a few years, but eventually sold it all off because it never got used. I've had had the EMi,ii, iii, and X, now all sold or up for sale. My second OM1 body is supposed to arrive this afternoon.

Image quality? If I do my part right, I wouldn't hesitate to print 30 by 40--except for the cost and availability of wall space.

I'd say the quality of m4/3 exceeds the quality of 95% of photographers here on UHH. That's not a put-down, it's just an observation of the fact that the state of the art in gear is exceedingly high, and all of us are still learning. Or should be.

Ansel Adams did very little color because he was not satisfied with the "state of the art" in color developing and printing.

After he tried an early version of photoshop, he declared that that would be how color photography came into its own.

It certainly doesn't stand for Get And Shoot.
There are still plenty of self-styled photographers who slobber over the likes of AA - who did Get And Shoot, without GAS.

Posts which decry "GAS" are usually a sign of virtue signaling. Or sometimes jealousy.

Somehow, a lot of folks tend to call anything within a fifty (or a hundred)-mile radius of Moab, Moab. I sort of get it I suppose, but (the town of) 'Moab' is pretty small, and a lot of what's described as being in (or even near) 'Moab' is situated a considerable distance from Moab, and could probably be located in another County altogether. The 'Priest & Nuns', however --unlike "Canyonlands" generally (which most presume is the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands Nat'l Park [since that's the only one of the four districts of Cany NP they'll typically see], is even in the same County that Moab is located in]-- is actually located in a different County that Moab is situated in), despite the fact that Castle Valley (where the 'Priest & Nuns' are located) is a half-hour drive and 35 miles away from Moab.

Whatever. It's all good. (But consult your map and/or your gas guage before you head on out to somewhere "around Moab".)

So I was right...It is the Priest and Nuns.

That's the "Priest and Nuns" formation to the left, in Moab, right?

It will be well worth the wait, and the price. Great lens.

The M1 MBP is a 13", so similar to the M1 Air that I'd just get the Air. I run an M1 Air with 1TB/16GB that, frankly, is all I need. I plug it into a 27" LG calibrated monitor at home in the office. I use a small dock to connect peripherals and download from SDXC cards.

I got my Mac from Apple Refurbished and saved 15%. The only difference was that it came in a plain white box. Same warranty, same quality.

Bill, no, I have the M1pro MBP in 14". Unless you mean the M1 "Not pro"?

So, Bill, this raises a question I have... (not restricted to Bill - anyone can answer!)

I'm likely going to be away from my 'main' computer (a 16g/1tb M1 Mini w/27" screen, etc) for a several weeks. Rather than take the whole kit and caboodle with me, I have been considering a MacBook Pro. I am certainly not a *power* user, and primarily use my computer for LR work and rarely use PS.

Could I get by with an 'older' M1 MBP with the 16/1 configuration, or should I spend the extra bucks for an M2?

I have the 14" MBP with the M1Pro chip, w/ 1TB and 32. It's great with LR, and I almost never use my iMac 27, because I much prefer the ergonomics and layout of the <BP. I doubt you'd notice much difference with 16 Gb memory.

The difference between 16 MP and 20 MP is 4 MP...(duh!). To me, that means you can crop 20% off the mkII image, and have the same number of pixels left over that you get with the mkI. As one who always crops my portrait mode images to a 4x5 aspect, that counts for something, YMMV.

As one can easily see in this slice: the majority of the equipment is Canon. Not all Canon. But as usual, more than all the others combined.

It would seem the visual evidence is conclusive, certainly more conclusive than exhaustively boring anecdotes to the contrary.

My setup is like yours, except I went for a 2TB Sandisk ssd. And the LG monitor just came out, so I went for that model. Gosh, I did a lot of research and so glad to know that I didn't fall short!!
