Please! I would love to see it and learn a trick or two.
Thanks for all the positive comments!!!! Makes the frozen fingers I got today all worthwhile!
Found these ice sculptures while walking in the park. Tried to show water movement with slow shutter speeds. Comments on pictures welcome...hopefully my composition is starting to improve!
....suddenly so thirsty.......nice pic!
Thanks Geoff! Actually, the only PP work was adding the "museum" matt border and my "logo" which will change....just experimenting.....the actual pics were as from the camera....
Thanks for all the positive comments!

Thanks for all the feedback. Since I first posted (yesterday), I was able to do a lot of internet research and I am now convinced NOT to use an adapter with the optical correction. To cover all bases though, I can get one with the best of both worlds....one that has the ability to have the correcting glass in or out (FotodioX M42-NK-PG ):
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/995104-REG/fotodiox_m42_nk_pg_pro_nikon_f_mount_lens.htmlI will update when I get the adapter and use the lenses!
Question about using older lenses on new DSLRs. I have my dad's old Pentax Spotmatic he purchased in the 60's. There are two lenses that I wonder if I could use if there are mounting adapters
1) 1:1.4 50mm and 2) 1:3.5 135mm (both from Asahi Optical Co. "Super-Takumar" lenses)
These are both faster lenses than the kit lenses I got with my Nikon D90. So...until I can afford to buy better Nikon (or Tamron or Sigma, etc), is there an adapter that I can use?
I know that these would be used in completely manual mode with my D90! Thanks for all the help!
Thanks guys....good input! I have recently begun exploring the non-automatic aspects of photography, and working on DOF, WB, etc. I was trying to get the feel of motion in the water in the first few shots.....will try harder to achieve this!
Tried to put together a little story - hopefully I have been successful! COmments on the photos welcome! These pics are from a walk in my Town's Park.......
Hello - first post (besides the intro post). I am starting to expand my photography by learning about custom WB, exposure, light temp, etc. I have been sports photography of my son playing baseball - using A-S priority modes, but most everything else as presets. Now I am trying to take it up a bunch of levels into the complete "manual" world (like using my Dad's old '60's Pentax Spotmatic, which I still have).
The files attached show what is probably a complicated shot where I was trying to capture the moon and the Xmas icicle lights which are covered in icicles themselves. Two different color temps and focusing on the moon and then the lights...can't get both even with a small aperture. What I did realize is I would love to get a remote flash so I can, in this case, bring out the tree in the background. Comments welcome.....this was only playing so it is not meant as a photojournalist submission!

Happy New Year all! I finally decided to take my photography up a notch and read the manual to learn more about working in complete manual mode. I have been a real novice for years, but knew some basic photography from using my dads old 60's era Pentax file camera, and then going to a point and shoot. I purchased a Nikon D90 kit a couple of years back for Sports photography - my son is a Baseball player - and have had some good luck with pics of him at bat (darn hard to time the bat hitting the ball even a 4pics/sec!), and fielding etc. This was done simply by using A/S priority modes and preset WB.
Now that he is soon off to college, I need another photography hobby, so it seems nature pics itself will fill the void! I have been studying custom WB, exposure, flash etc. A new world has opened up!
I hope to be a contributor to this forum and continue to learn from you folks here - Thx!
