Excellent composite. Gotta love that longhorn.

Couple of things...

1) This beautiful bovine is NOT a steer as everyone thinks. Look closer.

2) In the composite, just left of the heifer/cow's front right foot, is an area that seems to need a little work. The tuff of lighter grass seems to abruptly top out (as it basically does in the original photo) but looks truncated in the composite. Maybe do a little more clone work to give it an artificially taller and tapered "stature"? In the same area there's also what appears to be a straight horizontal line at the base of darker green grass. Some clone work here could serve to break the line up and also help with the truncated tuff of grass.

I was really looking closely at your composite as I admired how well you accomplished it. That's when this area showed up. Couldn't find anything else. You done good.

Somehow I doubt that carhenge will last as long as stonehenge has.

I used to live in Pittsburgh, PA, back when it was a steel producing town. Pittsburgh gets snow. Pittsburgh is hilly. Pittsburgh did not own snow plows. They used salt trucks. Probably on the theory that when the salt rusts out your car you will buy a new one, thereby keeping the steel industry going.

You're probably right. Rocks last longer than steel.

Though this article isn't about composites specifically, it does offer an interesting viewpoint (she doesn't really get to the point 'til about halfway down the page ):

By adding that dusty hue to the cars and including an eclipse, you have taken someone else's artwork (duly noted in your intro) and added your own spin to it. That elevates it from documentation to original concept in my opinion. Well done. Lots of impact.

I hadn't thought of the "someone else's artwork" perspective. Good point!

For me, it was just a vacation shot to play with.

I think you did a good job on this one. I looked at the legs to see if they’d blended well. They look good to me.

Your composit is well seen and executed. I just love your 2nd image though, to me it shows the strength of the steer, especially those horns. Bev

Thanks! I appreciate your thoughts!

When it was new the residents in the area hated it. Want torn down. Then when folks started traveling to see it and spend MONEY they loved it. Been a few years since we have been there but planning a Western Nebraska trip this Spring. - Dave

Rising like monoliths from ancient times, Carhenge stands as a formation of vehicles from days gone by.

Was it a temple for sun worship, a healing centre, a burial site, a calendar? Did ancients in hooded robes move the structures from distant lands to build this amazing structure?

Nope: Carhenge is Jim Reinders' replicate of Stonehenge. It’s a circle of cars within a circle. It’s “Car Art.”

I added the solar eclipse to create this composite.
