Some people complain about too many options, while others complain about not enough. A software company simply can't make everyone happy.

I'll bet the people in Ukraine are not worried about their "collectibles".

I'm not so sure about that. Sellers based in the Ukraine have been very active on eBay lately, trying to sell off their "collectibles". But I am quite reluctant to buy anything shipped from an active war zone. Too much can go wrong during shipment.

"Doldrums" usually is not an equipment problem. Look at some of the subjects being shot that catch your interest other than here on UHH and try shooting them yourself. Or even take a class from your local school, college, or camera store. Or sign up for a photo tour in the back of one of the photo magazines. Lots of ways to get out of the "doldrums ".

I find that oftentimes the solution is to simply take a little break from photography, focus on other hobbies. One can still use the off-time to think about new ideas and projects. Don't force inspiration, let it come naturally.

Last night we had a total eclipse of the moon. On the “inbound” segment, I was using a mirrorless camera. As the eclipse got more complete, the EVF system could no longer support even finding the subject.

Does your camera not offer focus lock and exposure lock?

In the last couple of months I have rethought this problem and have concluded that why not accept them as a part of reality.
In other words compose the photo with the poles and wires and celebrate them as a part of the reality that is there.
Yes, I avoid them if possible but have now reconsidered.

This has been my approach also. The only time I remove a wire from an image is when it runs along the edge or in the corner of the image and is therefore too distracting. Oftentimes wires can even be used to serve as leading lines within a composition, but this should be considered at time of shooting for maximum effectiveness.

A very strong blur filter should do the trick.

They stay on my PC until then. Is that the right way to look at it?

If that were really true, then no one would be able to access the link while your computer is turned off or disconnected from the internet.

I've accessed files in Dropbox on my smartphone while my computer was shut down lots of times. If the files only existed on the computer's hard drive, I shouldn't have been able to do that!

His quote seems to suggest quantity is the most important factor. But that doesn't really work for me. If I don't feel inspired, I don't take pictures. I have no desire to fill up memory cards with uninspiring images. However, I'm not a professional photographer, I'm a hobbyist. I don't need to continuously capture images to make a living.

Don't forget to look at shipping and handling fees. Some retailers compensate lower prices with higher fees.

Over the centuries, there have been countless books written on the subject. Keep in mind: Photography, painting, drawing - they all share the exact same principles of composition!

There are many photographers who, by definition, qualify as professional but don't really know what they are doing. This is more true now than decades ago.

The durability of the mechanical and electronic parts INSIDE the camera should be far more a concern than the camera's outer housing.

Eventually, every lens ever made will be discontinued. Some after only a few years.
