Around 7:00 a.m. the sun fought it's way through and over the bitter cold fog rising from the too warm water in the St. Lawrence River. I was slightly late for the actual sunrise but this photo offers a glimpse of the beauty of a splash of color provided by Mother Nature. Forcing me back into the house with the cold she then painted the sky brilliant horizontal strokes of yellow, pink, purple and blue, fading to all blue by 8:00 a.m. One never tires of the display. Assured to be all new at every showing.

I have never cropped a photo in this manner. It's real tight. Usually you like to give some shoulder to sit on when you crop. I just couldn't pass up the tight crop with the lines on Genny's face. She had the most unusual strong lines down the sides of her mouth giving her almost a puppet like appearance. I didn't notice the straight line under the right part of her mouth until post. I'm guessing it was a scar.
This lady was crazy as hell but a blast to talk to. She had no problem signing a release.
The portrait was done in a black and white metallic post processing technique I am working on.
I had originally called this portrait the wicked, but decided to change it to better reflect what she seemed to be.
I hope this is not to offensive to post.

Russ sometimes the best rules in photography to follow are (no rules). What a face, great job!!!
This seen has always looked so surreal to me. I love every thing about it. I know that I have not done it justice but I will keep going back until I get it right.
It is really hard to find what pictures I want to share, because I have so many. So these are a couple that I came across while browsing through my files.
Jackie all are good, but I really like No. 1...good job...
Hello everyone from Shepparton in Australia. A chance meeting with a fellow Canon 7D user at a birthday party not long back featured a discussion about learning about Ugly Hedgehog. (I have only had my 7D for 12 months and a newbie to photography) I have been reading for a few weeks now and thought I would jump in. I am trying all sorts of photography with perhaps birds, action and macro giving me a great deal of enjoyment at this stage. Here are a few macro shots with my Canon EF 100mm 2.8 lens. Appreciate constructive feedback.
