I like the new format. How will we chose which to use?

There will be a setting for it.

I don't use the digest.

I use the following:

I check in and click on "Newest Topics" at the top of the page. All the "Newest Topics" will show up. The newest topics have a green and bold type that will say "New Topic" at the beginning of the topic.
After I have viewed everything interesting to me, I will click on "Mark all Topics as Read".
That removes the green bold "New Topic" from the list.
When I return later in the day or the next day, I repeat the above process.

Now, I'm seeing topics that I have already "marked as read" are showing up as a "New Topic" with the green bold type.

I'm guessing the green bold "New Topic" is reappearing because there has been a new post and is causing the "New Topic" to reappear.
This action is miss leading for a "New Topic"
This will make it harder to find my place from my last visit.
I hope this makes sense.

I don't use the digest. br br I use the following... (show quote)

It would show "new posts" as opposed to "new topic".

One thing, especially if you go with the new format, I would like to see the original poster's name on each submission.

You can see it in either of the formats. There is a setting in My Profile " Show topic authors in the digest".

Laptop at this moment, resolution of 1920x1080

Please go to My Profile, scroll down to Custom View Settings and enable "Limit page width to 900 pixels".

Then, please let me know if that helps.

I'm thinking about making that the default width.

Right now, on a wide screen, centered elements end up being generally too far to the right. So I'm not sure if it's better to make headlines aligned to the left or simply reduce the width of the page while keeping them aligned to the center.

I think they look good and would be useful. However, I would align the subjects to the left

Are you browsing on a desktop with a large screen by any chance?

A nice idea but I think a bit overdone in the samples you provide. That is, the title plus perhaps the first line or two of text would suffice - the amount of scrolling required to get a quick overview of topics when images are included as well makes for a more tedious experience

Yes. I'm trying to determine the most optimal number of characters to show.

I wonder, would it be possible to group the entries by subsection? That way, if I wanted to see what was new in the way of Links and Resources, for example, I could just go to that subhead and view?

Yes. I'm working on it. The difficulty is in figuring out how to make the layout simple and intuitive. One way is to have tabs at the top of the digest's page "All|Main|Gallery|...". Right above the first topic. And if you click on that, you see topics only from that section.

The problem is we have many sections and some have really long names. A tab system like that won't fit on the screen and would look weird.

So I'm not yet sure how to go about that.

I very much like the format.
Are the four examples you have links to in any way different? They all looked the same to me.

Those are the last four digests.

Though I like the format, photos that are posted to the Nude (used as an all encompassing term for that section) can inadvertently cause employment issues.

Hmm. I'll see about adding a setting in the profile to hide pictures from that section.

I'm working on implementing a new format for the digest.

The old one will remain, but in addition to that we'll have the expanded format. It's basically a list of intro posts for each topic, one after another.

The new format is for people who prefer to scroll rather than scan headlines.

Here are some examples:

Please test it out send me any feedback you might have.
Thanks.

Oh, I see what you mean. You need to contact your e-mail provider about this. Their e-mail classification system makes the decision on that.

Yes, UHH e-mail is plain text, so there are no images to show inside the e-mail.

Grace98, can you PM me a screenshot of the page where "show pictures" is supposed to be visible?

Do you see pictures on the site at all?

Are you experiencing any problems at this time? (Nov 24 after 7AM eastern time.)

It appears that this problem occurs early in the morning eastern time. It will most likely happen again tomorrow, and I'll try to track down the source as it happens.
