Looking on Amazon for a 2 TB portable hard drive to store/backup photo's. Choices are: Seagate Barracuda, Western Digital Elements and Toshiba Canvio Basics. All are in the same basic price range so I'd like to hear from anyone having experience with any of these 3 ...., good, or bad. Thanks!

Because of their reliability I only buy WD drives. They also come with their own backup software which backs up incrementally (new files) each time when run.

If this drive you're buying is not used to backup your files then I would also buy their 5 TB drive as they are on sale currently. The 2 TB drive is only $59 and their 5 TB drive is only $99.

Hey David......just to let you know; I ran the trial period for Exposure 6, was very impressed. Today I purchased the Bundle..... I really like this software, still on the learning curve, but boy-o-boy what a greate substitute for LR. Exp6 does (almost) everything as good or better than LR6. So thanks a lot for tip. Keep shooting

I am a birder and I see no advantage with the R5 vs the R6. The R6 has better dynamic range. I know there is a crop factor to think about but is it really that pertinent in wildlife.

I have the R6 and bought the canon 100-400 mk II lens to go with it (I use it with the new adapter). I traded in the mk I version of that lens for the better quality. This camera has phenomenal low light capabilities and I don't see any problems when I have to crop an image. See two additional websites below supporting it's capabilities:

For landscapes ultra-wide lenses will display your backgrounds way to far away. They are designed for getting tight spaces into the picture. My opinion is to take panoramas in order to display vast landscapes. One article which really helped me to better use ultra-wide lenses is below. You should really get close to your subject for impact.

We are planning a trip to the Rockies starting in late May and am wondering if it would be worth it to add a new wide angle lens. I have a D7100 with a 18-55 lens. I wonder if it is worth purchasing a little bit wider lens. Specifically, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X 116 Pro DX Autofocus Lens. Would that lens be that much more beneficial?

There's a 30 day free trial of the full version of their software at their website. Also watch the tutorials listed on their site. They're very helpful. I've just started to investigate this S/W.

Some advice requested. I’ve been running Lightroom 6.14 since 2016. AS most LR user may know, this version program is the last stand-alone-Perpetual License, no longer offered by Adobe. I also run Photoshop Elements 2021 alone and as a plug-in. PSE is the other stand-alone / perpetual license from Adobe. OK, so here’s what’s going. Today when I started the LR program, a pop-up window appeared asking to log-into Adobe with password; another pop-up ask, “License This Product” (by entering my license key codes) …or run the TRIAL version of LR for 7 Days? Yikes! (I also experienced the same sign-in issue with PSE).

Now, I must log-in to activate and log-out to deactivates the programs. I been running these programs for years (off-line) without signing-in/out. LR 6.14 has been reliable…until now. I don’t use a cloud account for application or storage…so why is this necessary now?

Fortunately, I was able to find my password to sign-in to “my account” and enter the license keys to activate the program. Lucky, because I haven’t done this for a very long time since I “own” the perpetual, stand-alone licenses. Signing-in connects these programs to the internet, which I shouldn’t have to do and don’t want to do! AND….it gets worse. Now I have to accept/click the terms of agreement on a link page that states that Adobe “leases” these programs. My account was created when I registered these products with Adobe. The product information can be seen with the purchase amount on My Profile page.

Yes, I contacted Adobe Customer Service immediately (3 times today). After waiting a considerable amount of time, the first 37 minute conversation didn’t resolve anything. The agent just looked up my account and confirmed my ownership of LR and PSE. I was transferred to another special agent, and waited 2 minutes on hold. Then, as I was speaking to the agent, the phone connection was dropped mid-sentence, after 6 minutes. I called back, but could not reconnect…..no one answered. This problem is unresolved and I’m still pursuing a resolution. But I think I’m going to experience more frustrating wait times☹

Has any other LR 6.14 Users had a similar issue?
Some advice requested. I’ve been running Lightroo... (show quote)

If you're considering replacing lightroom then have a look at exposure 6. It has a very similar user interface to LR and reasonable cost to purchase ($129). It includes layers and masking tools as well. Try a 30 day trial to the full version of the S/W. There's also coupons online which will save you $10.

Just FYI, I've been researching Exposure 6 which is an alternative to LR and also includes Layers. It's a one time purchase and you can download a free trial which allows full use for 30 days. It looks very promising. It has very similar UI like LR which is why I really like it. It used to be alian skin but has expanded into what it is today.

The link below shows the power ratings at different zoom settings for your 430 flash. You will need to find similar ratings for the Godox V860. I have both flashes and I like the Godox better for the included flash card, battery and recycle time. It definitely last longer at family events. To me the output seems to be similar between them but I do a lot of flash compensation during shooting so not sure regarding power rating.

below is some info regarding the V860 for comparison.

I currently have a Canon 430EX II and received $150 in Amazon gift cards. Looking to spend it on the Godox V860.
The Canon flash is over 10 years old. Can I expect a considerable improvement over the old Canon flash? It's working well. I don't like the color cast I get with it, but it's easily corrected in PP.
Should I go for the Godox or am I wasting my time and money?
