Beautiful Leucistic Peacock. Great shot.
My brother-in-law had a solid white Peacock. The eyes were natural colored, so it was Leucistic, not Albino.
Oh, I love the Morels. Sooo delicious.
My great great grandfather owned a coffee mill in Dublin Ireland. His daughter took a liking to a boy who worked for him. That did not set well with him. The boy was from the lowlands. She was only 14, the boy was 15 and her father told her she was not to have anything to do with him. They hid in a lifeboat on a ship headed for the USA. They landed in Pa, married there, worked their way down to NC and then on to Alabama. She brought one dress and a rag doll on the ship with her. Oh what I'd give to have that rag doll.
At 15 she had a baby boy that weighed 15 ounces. She was told he would not live unless she could get him goat's milk. One of their neighbors had a goat farm and loaned them a nanny goat. That baby lived to be 38 and died in a train crash.
Her daughter was my grandmother. I was born at my grandmother's house. My parents lived with my grandparents so that my grandfather and dad could work and my mother could take care of my grandmother, who had cancer. I weighed in at 2 pounds when I was born and was allergic to mother's milk, so guess what!!! Yep! I too was raised on goat's milk!
My little great grandmother from Ireland lived there too. She was only 4 ft 10 inches tall so I thought she was my little playmate that lived with us. I have no idea how old she was and wish I knew someone to ask, but both she and my grandmother died when I was 5. I still remember them very well.
After I married and we moved to the farm and started raising horses, I learned that goat's milk will raise ANYTHING, even baby rabbits, squirrels, kittens and PIGS, which are very hard to raise without a mama.
We may feel like it's important to know where we came from. I feel it's more important to know where we are going. It's nice to know both.
Thank you to those who took the time to read.
Must have been a grand place to visit. The photos are awesome!!!

This is a 7 mile long barrier beach island in Charlotte county, FL. It has beautiful beaches and an Inn that was built in 1911 and is on the National Historic register. We spent this past weekend there.
Enjoyed these beautiful photos!!!
Nice shot anyway!!!
In defense of the cold....
I have to plant everything in the shade down here, even if it says full sun because full son here burns everything up...and this is Alabama!!
The one good thing about a cold spell is that COLD weather sets more blooms.
We had our coldest winter in many years here and this spring there are probably 10 times more blooms on everything.
My friends in Canada have a lot more blooms per plant and the blooms are much larger.
Very nice shots. The Goslings are adorable.
My dad worked for the railroad for 46 years. I always wanted a red caboose in my back yard as an art studio.
Now and then someone asks if this is truly a photo forum. I think many of them just fail to see that there are many sections here, even one that is a "NON photography" discussion, where we can discuss anything that does NOT pertain to photography.
It might be a good idea to put "ALL SECTIONS" at the top of each page instead of at the bottom where so many miss it.
