Since the subject is in general wasted tax dollars I am on topic. Is it Bush's fault? I don't know who made the decision and I imagine some of it occurred on Obama's watch as well. Don't know who to blame specifically. It's not about blame anyway. The point is so many worry about piddly crap when the big crimes go on without much comment.

Do not delude yourself even for one moment that you have anything whatsoever to say about what I post or not. I'm reasonably certain I don't need your permission to speak out.

Check your calendar. The Iraq war was launched in 2003. Obama was a Senator who voted against the war. Exactly what part of this was on Obama's watch?

Zimmerman Trial Costs Public $902,000
August 22, 2013 by UPI - United Press International, Inc.
SANFORD, Fla., (UPI) — The five-week trial of George Zimmerman that ended in his acquittal in the death of teenager Trayvon Martin cost the public $902,000, officials said.
Zimmerman, who was charged with murder in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17, in Sanford, began June 10 and a six-member jury returned the not guilty verdict on July 13.
The biggest cost associated with the trial was paid to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, which spent $425,000 providing security, planning and logistics during the trial, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Wednesday. The second biggest was the $183,000 the city of Sanford spent on police overtime.
Sanford police decided to up security to curb potential violent protests as well as protect Zimmerman, who had received death threats
Juror costs also were high. The Clerk of Courts Maryanne Morse spent $34,600 during the jury’s 22-day sequestration, during which the six members of the jury lived in a hotel and were isolated from their families and media reports.
The trial costs are based, in part, on estimates and do not include criminal investigation or pretrial costs, such as the $80,000 the Seminole-Brevard State Attorney’s Office paid to have Special Prosecutor Angela Corey work on the case.
Nor did the trial costs include what Zimmerman and his law

My suggestion would be; Congress deduct $1,000,000 from Obama's "pension" and send it to Sanford, Florida to covewr the un-needed expenses.

So the cost of providing a fair trial is Obama's fault?? What on earth did Obama have to do with it?

Here's a better idea--deduct the cost of the Iraq war from Bush's pension. Or the cost of the Valarie Plame business from Cheney's pension. At least there would be a direct link. Your Obama Derangement Syndrome has obliterated your ability to think, such as it is.

Well Frank...I'm wondering how these two videos have anything to do with each other?

I'd be GLAD to stand with you and denounce this guys words and actions as wrong...becoming violent because you disagree isn't the right course of action.

Would you be willing to denounce the guy in my OP as wrong in his basic assumption (that banning objects is an effective approach to weapons used in crime?)

The problem is not guns per se, but irresponsible gun owners. Because there are so many people in possession of firearms who should not have them, we responsible gun owners will eventually have to accept some restrictions for the good of society at large, especially children. Fortunately, those restrictions will be what responsible gun owners already observe--gun safes, background checks, required gun safety training and certification, etc. These kinds of restrictions will only affect the idiots. Not too high a price to pay.

I do enjoy riling the rubes. Downside: its too easy. It does not take much to expose your spite, fear, and child-like little temper tantrums. Keep it coming.

All I have too do is express a view different than yours and you call me all kinds of nasty names that you would not use if we were face to face. Such courage!

So here's a name for all of you: infantile blowhards. I think it fits.

Quite presumptive of you, as well as self congratulatory. No one makes you devote full time to me--you put me on ignore because you do not have anything approaching a rational riposte, only schoolyard stuff. You can only stick your tongue out at me and proudly proclaim yourself the winner. Pathetic, really.

I thought you were ignoring me. Or do you just pop up to fire another juvenile insult and then run and hide again?

Not only have you proved that I got the best of you, you are demonstrating that you are a coward. Congratulations.

Pretty short sighted I would say. I don't recall hearing about similar actions when we used to see Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, and Bush masks being used in similar fashion.

The difference is that this crowd was incited to violence ("how many people want to see Obama run down by a bull! Yay!!!").

Perhaps the violence was only imaginary...but it is quite illegal to threaten the POTUS even if you don't mean it.

School yard taunts and infantile name calling is the best you can do? Do you always have this much trouble with people who disagree with you? Or am I the very first person in your life that has ever dared to stand up to you?

Just scratch the surface of a bully and you will always find a coward.

Stay on topic? So you are the arbitrator of how we are to evaluate the president and his empty words? My friend, you have no ability to judge the credibility of my statements for anyone other than yourself. You are outmatched in this discussion and I am bored with it.

Trying to hit me arguments I did not make is both foolish and childish. You do not need to put words in my mouth. I will speak for myself.

Here's a 'fact' for you. You may be correct re: CA and NY, but a Yahoo news report a few days ago stated that in most states people would see their premiums rise. I did not save the report. Wish I had as it disproves your argument. Blurryeyed gets it right 99% of the time.

Well, isn't nice that you can quote a source you cannot cite. If you want to play with me, you must do better than that. "I read somewhere that blah blah blah". Bush league.

Little infraction? This was your 3rd post in these forums since you joined and the 1st post on this thread. Here it is: "What a hateful, spiteful rant. Re-read the text and take away all of the unsupported opinions and lurid descriptions, what do we have? Nothing really. Just another right wing blow hard with big opinions and short of facts or reasoned analysis. When you understand the difference between insult and argument, you may have something worth listening to. Until then, you are not influencing anyone. Go ahead and flame me since insult is all you seem to have. To paraphrase Faulkner and Shakespeare, you are simply full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." And you think that was a substantive reply? Let me say again. You invite nothing but venom. BS... Talk is cheap and Obama is full of cheap talk, just as he said that there was a red line in Syria, that seems to have disappeared, not that I want to see us engage, he should have just kept his big mouth shut if he had no real intention of following up on his statement. Much the same after Benghazi, "We will bring those responsible to justice" he blasts from his podium, yet CNN, CBS, and others have long sit down interviews with those on the FBI wanted list, but where is the justice that president Obama promised? He is a laughing stock. And yes... Now he says that he will recover and stop hundreds of billions of dollars in Medicare fraud.. What a joke, why did the federal government wait for Obamacare to stop this fraud? Why did they not do something about it before? Because they have no real intention of stopping the fraud, it just sounded good to people like you and give you ammunition for you defense of this fool.... They will not stop the fraud, nor will they actually cut the medicare expenses as he promised, it was all just a ruse to pass his healthcare legislation. How many years have they passed a doc fix? Just what is the doc fix anyway? Is it not just a budgeting gimmick that they use so that when they report future deficits to the program they can use lower provider expenses so things will not look as bad as they really are.... only to come along and change the law back to what it was after the program yearly reports are done? If that is not what it is about then please explain it to me because it seems to me that each year our congress is scrambling to pass that damn doc fix.

Your talking points may sound good but they are shallow, easily taken apart.

Did I mention Syria or Benghazi? Stay on topic if you want to have some credibility. Or, if you want to have an argument with the voices in your head, leave me out of it.

As for Medicare, all you have is hyperventilated opinion and innate spewing bitterness toward Obama. This does dot make a compelling argument. But here's a fact for you: In both California and New York, early adopters of the ACA, insurance premiums are going down.

Although it is a complicated law and will have some glitches, the more people see the benefits, the more they like it. This law was passed by Congress, certified as Constitutional by the Supreme Court, and was ratified by Obama's reelection. You are on the losing side of this, dude. Deal with it.
