Hi All,
Please help me make decision on either buying Canon EF 135mm F/2 or not.

I already had the following lenses
- Canon EF 24-70mm F/2.8
- Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 Macro
- Canon EF 85mm F/1.2
- Canon EF 24mm F/1.4
- Canon EF 50mm F/1.4
- Canon EF 16-35mm F/2.8

Do I waste my money if I would buy Canon EF 135mm F/2.
Thank you in advance for your comments.

The 135/F2 is $900 on Amazon.
It weighs 1.7 lbs and uses a 72 mm filter.
It also does not have IS.

The lens gets great reviews as others have mentioned.
What is your subject matter that you think this lens would suit better than what you have. It should be half the 2.9 lbs of the 70-200.

You have some great lens here some of which I also own.
How often do you use your Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 Macro?

Most inportantly will you use it enough to justify the $$$.

You could just rent one and see if you wanted to take the plunge?

I am just envious of your current collection!

The photo I am most interested in is the bottom or fourth one.

First it is good to know the Kit or equipment. Camera make and model same for the lens.

Second I like to understand how the shot was made, hand held or supported, f/stop, shutter speed, ISO and any filters used, are helpful information if available.

I am an engineer by education and have read extensivly photographic books so I am interested in these things.

I have attached the setting details as requested. Other information: Hand-held and no filters.

Hope it is helpful.

Thanks for the information, I usually set my Canon at -1/3 EV as well as a starting point.

I did enjoy your photos, such detail.

Cheers!

You can cycle through the "Info" button and get different displays.
Try pushing the button and you get the level, and then push again you get a different screen.
One such selection is no display, saves power.

Wow what a great momemt, good enough to get out of bed for!!

Read the above responses.

Thanks Bob,

I was typing my 2cents and sent in apparently after your comments but before my computer/browser updated the page!

The top 1/4 could be cropped and the picture would be slightly better. All the color and detail are in the lower part.

Hi,, I also shoot raw pretty much all the time. I shoot jpeg if I am shooting sports action or anything which requires rapid shots, RAW will fill your buffer much faster than JPEG, and you will have to constantly stop shooting in order for your buffer to clear.

You are correct, the buffer filling problem is camera specific and lessons some what when you get a new and expensive camera. Just in case you need justification for scratching an itch!
