Take a photography class from a local source. The more informal the better. Somewhere were photography is more important than a grade. You'll learn more and will be free to experiment.

I take several 16GB cards when I vacation. It's not unusual for me to take 8,000 pictures either. But, each night I will go thru the shots for the day and delete obvious bad ones or dupes from the camera. Then when I get home I will do the same in the computer. I will then try to keep just 200-300 or so pictures for a slide show of the trip. Any more than that and you will bore the heck out of those you show them too. I also keep any pictures that I may want to enter into photo contests. Out of those 8,000, 350 may survive the cutting room floor. You must learn to be ruthless when deleting pictures or you will lose control of your library.

I'm on a budget too, but it sprung for a Carbon Fiber Manfrotto 055XPRO3 and am glad I did. Solid as a rock, very light in weight, and will last for many, many years. Worth every penny. Remember "You get what you pay for!"

At the risk of being repetitive, this is all the more reason to use a toploader instead of a strap, even the best. One gets full protection without limiting quick access or adding any appreciable bulk


A Top Loader is far too cumbersome, for me. Too much to carry, but to each their own. There is no perfect system.

I agree with MT Shooter, Op/Tech Sling Strap is the answer. The lens does not hang out, it hangs forword against your body. The only thing I don't like about it is when you walk, if you don't hold on to the camera it will swing.

I don't understand how anyone has a hard time finding this on the news. It's been published for months. Now if you don't trust FOX then you have a problem. You've been successfully brain washed by the liberal media. That's your problem, and no one elses.

The problem today is a decay in society as a whole. Many parents that have kids should not. They do a lousy job raising them, because they too are lazy or degenerate themselves. Governments do not solve problems they create more problems, because they use the shot gun method instead of a scalpe.

You will note that no member wants to comment as the majority here are gun nuts and any comment would be considered some sort of concession that some of the people that are armed should not be armed. The story reminds me of the film Full Metal Jacket you can only push someone so far before they snap. As an observer of all the goings on regarding gun violence in this country and as a gun owner I can see that evidence of craziness caused by paranoia starting to show. This is especially true of the NRA spokesperson and others who feel the need to comment at the hearings in Washington. The NRA is an arm not of gun-owners but gun-makers. It exists solely to prevent any laws being passed that would adversely affect gun sales. The NRA is no better than a war profiteer reaping profits from the misery of war. Except in this case the casualties are all civilian.

As usual you have it wrong, because you listen to propaganda put out by the media and government. The NRA is not an arm of gun makers. If you look at the NRA's membership you will find that it have millions of gun owner members. Those number are growing exponentially. Get your facts right. Contribute something worthwhile and no "Gun Nuts" one will pick on you.
