And what is the problem with your FZ200?

Graeme-- Thanks for responding. I have the problem solved as of now. Had something to do with the 1.7 converter and adapter. This forum is awesome when it comes to helping people.

A friend has one on his panasonic which is an older model then yours. I cannot check with him at this time. It was attached to the body, using only these two parts.

Orca---Guess what. This afternoon the mail man delivered the adapter and it works. So simple and I tried to make it difficult.DUH. Again thanks for you kind help.

The 1.7 tele converter is p/n DMW-LT55
The adapter is p/n DMW LA7
The zoom function works inside this adapter and converter.
You can see both if you go to B&H photo.
Ron

Thanks Orca-- Does the adapter fit over the body or how is it attached and is there a step ring involved. I know these are probably dumb questions but thanks for your help.

Ran across a field that people seemed to feel was the place to abandon old vehicles.

Hey! Bring them down here to S. Texas and we will put them on the road. No inspection needed. No Drivers Lic. required. Make good dope vehicles right.

I have a new FZ200 camera and decided to order the 1.7 tele converter. I am getting some negative response on this set-up and thought I would let UHH folks guide me. I have been told that the Adapter LA-7 will not work on this camera. something about the camera glass getting in the way. Also that the camera is 52 mm and the converter is 55mm therefore it will not fit the body of the camera. Does the camera lens get in the way of the converter--can you ZOOM as usual? Would appreciate your help. Even the camera stores are unsure on this and are giving me conflicting info. Thanks.

Having some difficulty with FZ200 and so I contacted the Companies customer service department for advice. What I found made me mad as hell. They wanted $40.00 to answer my question. Have never been confronted with this with other companies. Is this normal for a company to do this?

I just bought the Panasonic FZ200 as my EDC but I finding the menu setup has a steep and frustrating learning curve even with Graham Houghton book "user's Manual. The manual that comes with the camera is useless.
Any FZ200 owners out there have any suggestion on how to learn the menu setups quickly?

daveg42-- I received my FZ200 two weeks ago and I am still trying to figure stuff out so don't feel you are the "Lone Ranger". I try to watch Houghton on You Tube and I get lost with his British accent at times. I decided to order the 1.7 TC and I am having trouble trying to figure out the adapter set up. I feel your pain.

When you saw the images, what made you decide that one had a different focal length than the other? If you thought the field of view should be the same, keep in mind that the FZ200 spec of 600mm is a "35mm equivalent", and with your Canon XTi + 300mm f/4 + 2x TC, you have a 960mm "35mm equivalent". Does your editing software tell you what the 35mm equivalent is? If not, and you are using Windows, you can get FastStone Image Viewer to see it from the EXIF info.
When you saw the images, what made you decide that... (show quote)

You are right amehta and I should have considered that. Learn something everyday. Duh!. I guess I was thinking the field of view would be a bit closer. Thanks so much for your help.

First, they zoom will go to something like 49.6 with out degradation (as opposed to only 24x). It will not go further than 24x when in Auto. I have the 1.7 and like it. Be sure to purchase the converter ring - it screws on the camera itself around the lens and then the 1.7 attaches to that. Puts the weight on that rather than your zoom lens. Both can be found on Amazon and of course your other favorite shopping spots. The 1.7 is BIG.Converter ring is LA-55 (FZ200)

Thanks Medavis43--- Keep those peanuts coming and I will check out the 1.7 on Amazon.

Any money not spent of US facilities goes to foreign government agencies for whatever the usage specified. This means the average citizen of these countries never sees any benefits. As for who hates us? Remember, that more than any other country in the world, we have an IMMIGRATION problem - everyone wants to get over here and live (some hatred?).

Everyone wants to get over here and live right, but they want us to follow their beliefs and laws and yet they would like for us to give - give- give. Perhaps we have given too much. Perhaps if we stop giving they will want to stay home and take care of their own business. We have passed laws regarding immigration. If you have entered our country with out due process you are illegal therefore you are in trouble (or should be). Simple -right
