So you lived in Rochester? Doesn't mean what you say is true. At an average of 50 MPH the trip would only be just over 8 hours. And it is a rare few who only average 50 MPG on a trip like that. Even if I was blind and deaf, which I'm neither, I still wouldn't be dumb enough to believe your unsubstantiated comments.

Eight hours is about right from HERE, Bill …

Ten hours to Buffalo … another 45 minutes to Niagara …

Once you've actually DONE it - leaving from MY door … then, you can come and argue with me, again …

If - you're DUMB enough, to …

That's what usually happens when anybody tries to show you that your notions are incorrect. No surprise there. Have a good evening.

Hey!!! … I already told you I used to LIVE in Rochester … are you blind as well as deaf, Bill?

So you didn't go to the map for fear of learning something? The folks who produce this info just might no more than you.

Now if you are one of those folks who drive 35mph when the speed limit is 70mph, and wonder why everyone is giving you the finger as they go around you, that's a whole other problem.

I stay with the traffic, Bill … which usually means 55-65 - depending on weather and environment …

I DID go to that link, btw … and closed it, after a half-hour went by, without anything appearing ….

Did you go to the link that shows the map and driving time, or just pulling info from where the sun don't shine?

Bill - you're the one who's making things up!! … I used to LIVE in Rochester. I KNOW how long it takes!!!

If you think you can get to Niagara in only six hours from HERE, Bill - you clearly don't know how to drive!!!

NONSENSE!!! … You can't even get to Rochester, in six. Buffalo is two hours beyond Rochester. Niagara is another hour beyond that ….

You're in Delaware, Bill … what the hell do YOU know about it?

We looked at visiting Niagara as part of our 2008 vacation. Too much driving time to get there and back, from New England, and not enough time in a 6 week vacation considering other options.

It's a bit of a trek from here, Richard … some ten hours, each way. It may actually be quicker to go to Canada, first, and then head to the Canadian side from Quebec, via Ontario …

Oh, thanks, Richard … will take a browse thru this one, then …

If they're closer than Niagara ... may even take a run over there - eh?

I have been to Kent state park, worth a visit. Not sure if Niagara is a national pk, have visited there, also.

Going all the way up to the top - where the waterfall begins - is quite a trip - isn't it, Karin?

When I was a kid - I had no problem mastering that trail, but, now - the best I can do - is about halfway.

Richard says Niagara is a State Park - but, since it's on BOTH sides of the border - not really sure.

However, it's NOT listed on the Wiki List of all National Parks, a link for which, he posted, above.

Acadia - in Maine - IS … that would seem to be the closest one to here, oh, and Shenandoah - in Virginia.

That doesn't make much sense, Richard - since Niagara borders on TWO countries - should be INT'N'T'L!!!

And Acadia honors the French in the area … Acadians … so that one should be, as well …

A national park (such as Yellowstone, etc.) was established by the federal govt., state parks by state govts. Cuyahoga Valley National park is in our area and Findley, Punderson are state parks.

Ah, I see … said the Blind Man … don't think there's any National Parks near here …

Just State Parks … Squantz, and then there's that one in Kent - where the long waterfall is ….

I should get out more! … Can't THINK where there may be others, near here!

So, I guess - Niagara … must be a National Park … right?

Nah, Gwan, Charlie … 's NEVER too late!!! … You might make a mint!!!!

There's a lotta cameras out there, which rely on the LCD screen … too many ….

The world is PINING for something to make it easy to see the LCD in bright sunlight!!!

You can put ME on your waiting list … howzat?

Come to think of it … I've NEVER bought a dig cam w/o a viewfinder … but - hey! you never know! ….

Back in the day I had a Nikon Coolpix 950 camera...its body twisted so you could put the screen in different positions...That was my first digital camera, and i loved it...one problem it did have was that in daylight you could not see the screen because of the sun....my solution was to buy a little slide viewer and Velcro it to cover the screen...an added bonus was that the slide viewer also magnified by 2x....It served its purpose...I don't think there were any products specifically made for this purpose back then...Who knows, i might have been the first to use such a device and missed an opportunity to make millions on repurposing this device and improving upon it...

What a GREAT opportunity you may've missed out on, Charlie. Hey! … No time like the present!
