I have the ones that talk to my camera and I use them for close focus and macro photography.

I have "areas" that I plan to visit but no "shot list" for me that would possibly result in some form of tunnel vision to ensure I got to everything I wanted plus, if I would run out of time before I got to everything on my list I may be a bit disappointed.

Photo Pills has replaced my Photographer's Ephemeris but I still have "Magic Hour" and "Clear Outside". For weather I use "Storm Radar" and I still have the "Weather Bug". They're all available from the app store on my iPhone.

I just ordered the Covered Bridges of Pennsylvania yesterday for our trip up that way in May. Looking forward to it.

Depending on how long you're going to be there and your time, a day trip up to ST. Augustine would present many opportunities also :).

We lived in Ormond Beach for a while and there are tons of things to photograph over there.

I got some awesome sunsets a while back with some people throwing castnets for bait at Highbridge. It's just off of A1A about 2-3 miles north of Ormond Beach along "The Loop" which is full of opportunities(http://www.ormondscenicloopandtrail.com/). There are also some photo opportunities at Bulow Plantation (https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/bulow-plantation-ruins-historic-state-park) also at the casements in Ormond Beach (http://www.thecasements.net/index.html) and tons of things going on at and around the Lighthouse in Ponce Inlet (http://ponceinlet.org/) Of course the Speedway is always active too and the beach for sunrises.

Sorry but I have no idea where Votran runs but it is really easy to drive around A1A and down to the lighthouse.

Enjoy your visit.

It may just be me but, if I'm going to spend $2000 to $3000 on a camera I'm not going to try and save $30-$40 on a battery and possibly, no matter how remote the possibility, damage anything.

I've done it with my Canon 70-200 f/4 with no problems at all but I used NiSi 100mm filters with the holder. I've used the screw on type on some other lens while I was using the longer lens. I If you don't want to screw the filter on try some xume magnetic adapters https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/969996-REG/xume_77mm_lens_adapter_starter_kit.html I use them and they work great. Breakthrough Photography has magnetic adapters also.

Basically if you don’t shoot sports, wildlife and don’t care about video it seems a good camera. I had the EOS-R for 15 days and liked it but it is not good for sports or wildlife either.

I shoot mostly (90%) Landscapes on a tripod and even though I'm still learning little things about it, I love my EOS-R. I still have my 6D as a back-up but I may just get rid of it since I hardly ever (never) use it anymore.

I don't think we photographers should learn Photoshop. It is too big, complex and intimidating. However, there may be a dozen techniques withing Photoshop that are useful, fun and relatively easy.

First and foremost on my list is object removal. Photoshop is far better than Lightroom.

Thanks bsprague, that's about all I've used PS for so far.

If you have the $10 per month Adobe Photographers plan, it is one of the "no extra charge" features.
