Hi Jerry I had a recent problem with my 2013 Pro. The trackpad stopped working so I presumed it had failed. Only when the laptop failed completely did I find the cause. It was the battery pack that had failed and swelled up in size so much that when I took the screws out the back case popped up about a 1/4"! Once a new battery was fitted the trackpad now works like new. Might be worth checking for the sake of a few screws?

That's exactly what happened to my wife's Pro. I googled, found an article that suggested the battery being the cause, replaced the battery, and back to normal.

Trivial to you, not to those who bear it as an insult, indicative of the unjust treatment of their people. This is not trivial. Get a heart. Learn to respect the humanity of others.

BTW I've got a job: news, feature and documentary cameraman, thirty years making six figures traveling the world with a camera. I've learned a lot about the dignity of humans of all colors and in all walks of life.

It might have if you had been oppressed all your life. I recently was on the North Slope of Alaska and in the Canadian Arctic filming a documentary. The Inuit there are extremely poor and do not have, in their own native land, the benefits that accrue to the white settlers. It's easy to be tolerant as long as you are in a privileged position...

Well said. It is a shame that so many don't recognize, let alone acknowledge, that they have been the beneficiaries of white privilege.

PC started as a way to think about offending someone by the terminology one might use, and then finding another term that is not offensive. It became a term used derisively by those who didn't damn about offending anyone.

When we lived in the Catskills (never crossed paths with Jerry) a bear destroyed our bird feeder. In fact, the state wildlife folks advised against even having a bird feeder during the time of year--now--that bears are fattening up for the winter, or when they get up in the spring. Our bird feeder was hanging from the pergola on the second storey deck up a long flight of stairs.

A long time ago, when I was in junior high, a friend and I ran across the word "omphaloskepsis" and thought it was the best thing ever to know.

OK - that's my anti-government rant for the day ... next time you see a car with gov't plates, you should wave...

but don't use all of your fingers

Why are you ranting against the government? Your post seems to recognize that it is the private sector that is violating your privacy. The Consumer Protection Agency was supposed to help, but djt gutted that, together with other programs that served the public good.
You want clean water, clean air, but those are gone. We'll soon cut down the forests. The FDA and CDC have become political tools for djt. Truck drivers can now drive until they drop, in unsafe vehicles.
Vote djt and his enablers out!

We should be hard on them. They have blindly, stupidly, enabled a dishonest, indecent fraud to destroy this country’s reputation, and many of its’ institutions. This U.S. is far more divided and full of hate than when Trump assumed office; and citizens are needlessly dying because of inept leadership. Our children and grandchildren will suffer.
Have a good day.

Absolutely! It's time to play hardball.

Trump shouldn't worry about speeches. I'm sure that the lovely couple from St. Louis will bring down the house when they talk about gun safety, followed by Chachi and wrapped up by the My Pillow Guy.

Did you notice that trump wouldn't follow tradition and unveil a portrait of Obama hanging in the white house?
